The app also goes further by offering interactive timelines that enable you to scroll through the chronology of
a composer’s life and greatest achievements in just a few screen swipes, helping to contextualize musical
events with other disciplines like art, literature, politics, and beyond. You can even curate your searches with
ease to filter by year, event type, or by specific keywords. Informusic’s most useful features include:

Browse composer biographies and find out everything you need to know about a
composer at a glance. Informusic gives you brief yet comprehensive, concise information
to answer your questions and inspire your research.
Audio Examples and Program Notes
Listen to audio examples from famous compositions as you browse program notes, on
some of Western Art Music’s greatest pieces, each of which has had a lasting impact on
music history. Program notes, meanwhile, accentuate and explore the historical context in
which a composition was created, as well as the theory behind the music.
View Sheet Music
With Informusic, you can view the actual sheet music right on your device, and follow the
score as you listen! There are dozens of scores to be discovered in the app—all of which
include the ability to scroll as well as to zoom in and out for closer examination.
Interactive Timelines
Want to know when Mendelssohn met Goethe? Or perhaps you’re wondering what wars
took place while Beethoven wrote his Third Symphony? Informusic’s Interactive Timelines
make it easy to seek out answers and enable you to contextualize musical events with
other composers and disciplines, such as art, literature, politics, and more.
A Constantly Expanding Music History Resource
Informusic is constantly updated with ever-expanding content and additional
composers. While the app currently features only Western Art Music, expansions for
other genres such as Jazz are also already in the works now.
The Informusic Team
Led by creator Drew Schweppe, the Informusic team includes a distinguished array
of experts, advisors, and fact-checkers to ensure accuracy at every step
Informusic was created by founder Drew Schweppe, who was inspired to
create the app as a result of his intensive studies in music, while pursuing his
Master’s degrees in Music and Music Industry Leadership from City
University of London and Northeastern University. Drew, who also holds a
Bachelor of Music in Composition degree from Ithaca College, became
increasingly interested in music history—as well as in the idea of making
that knowledge accessible on some kind of mobile platform.
Drew quickly realized the advantages a comprehensive music history app for
iOS devices might offer to performers, students and fans of classical music,
and his quest to create Informusic began—a goal that would take more than
five years of exhaustive research and development to achieve, with the soft
launch of the app in Summer of 2016, and with the official launch of
Informusic in November 2016.

The informusic team also includes Content Coordinator Nathan Faro, Copy Editor & Fact Checker Nadine Bliss,
Historian Katie Gray, and Artist Seth Crider.
Informusic also features an advisory board of Ph.D. musicologists who constantly review its content for
relevance and accuracy chaired by Dr. Mark A. Radice (Professor, Music Theory, History, and Composition at
Ithaca College). The advisory board also includes John Moraitis,
Dana Dalton, Solomon Guhl-Miller, Colin Holman, Edward Macan,
Matthew McDonald, Hilary Poriss, Brian Robison, Jacquelyn Sholes,
and Thomas Tropp. Its team of musicologists and contributors
includes Max Aleman, Anna Brashears, Joseph Caldarise, Fabienne
Rudolph, Moira Gannon, Stephen Gomez-Peck, Hermann Hudde,
Erica Levenson, Madeleine Parkes, Benjamin Pawlak, Tristan RaisSherman, Matthew Recio, Katie Strobel, Laura White, and Bradley
Whittemore.
Working in coordination with Drew and his team, the Informusic app itself was designed and developed by
Vuzum Studio.
