When you arrive at the venue, you will be greeted by CIMA and BAT representatives. You will be
escorted to the registration desk and then the participants‟ room where you can leave your
belongings.
During the team brief, the order of presentations will be decided by lottery. Teams will also be
given a chance to practice using the presentation clicker and screen.
The event will officially begin at 12.30pm so you must be seated in the main room by 12.25pm.
Each team will be called up by the compère when it is their turn to present.
All teams will remain inside the main room during all presentations. So that no team has an
advantage over another, judges have been briefed to ask a variety of questions.
Lunch will be provided in the participants‟ room. You must return to the main room at 2.45pm.
During the break at 4.10pm, teams will have time to speak to representatives from Barclays,
Unilever, BAT, KPMG, ATC, PwC Academy, and other companies about graduate employment
opportunities.
Before the awards ceremony, the judges will provide some general feedback about team
presentations.
3. Format of the event
The purpose of the event is to crown the winning regional team from Russia. You will present your ideas
to a panel of judges acting as the Board of Jot. Just as a real life team of financial and management
consultants would use an initial presentation to communicate their ideas, so you will meet the judges.
The judges have not read the reports you submitted in the first stage of the competition. However, they
will have had the opportunity to view your presentations and synopses. Other than this, the original case
study information and a judging matrix, the judges will have no guidance or information and will draw on
their own experiences of business and the commercial world to assess and question your presentations.
The audience will be made up of the teams, mentors, company representatives, and other guests,
including a photographer. There will be approximately 50 people in the audience.
The day will be rounded off with a ceremony where prizes and certificates will be presented to all
participants. The judges will decide the positions of all teams, as well as the best presenter. The best
team video will be decided by votes cast on our Vkontakte page (vk.com/cimagbc) and on the day of the
final, so tell your friends to get voting! The voting will open on Vkontakte on Monday 3 June.
Prizes are as follows:
Winning team: paid trip to South Africa to represent Russia and your university at the global
final, guaranteed Unilever internships, iPad minis, certificates.
First runner up team: guaranteed BAT internships during summer 2013, Boom card vouchers
worth RUB 10,000 for each team member (sponsored by KPMG), certificates.
Second runner up team: guaranteed Diageo internships during summer 2013, iPods, risk
management or performance management courses at PwC, certificates.
Third runner up team: iPods, risk management or performance management courses at PwC,
certificates.
Best team video: Boom card vouchers worth RUB 2,500 for each team member (sponsored by
KPMG), CIMA C01 courses at ATC, certificates.
Best presenter: digital book reader, certificate.
All team members will also receive a CIMA gift bag and corporate gifts from our sponsors.
4. Presentation, synopsis, and video
Your presentation, synopsis, and video must be submitted to [email protected] by
Friday 24 May 2013. To submit your video, create a free account at www.dropbox.com and send
the file [email protected]
Presentation
We understand that this may be the first time you have presented in front of a large group of people and it
can be stressful, but don‟t forget that it is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your skills. Relax, smile,
and remember that everyone, from the audience to the judges, is excited to hear your ideas!
Your presentation will be broken down into a five minute introduction, a 20 minute presentation, and a 10
minute question and answer session with the judging panel.
Introduction
This includes your two minute video (see requirements below).
The other three minutes are for you to introduce your team, university and each member. You
can make this part of your introduction one of your presentation slides, if you wish.
Presentation
Consider the structure – the presentation should have a clear beginning, middle, and end: briefly
discuss the issues in the case study, state what you intend to do, cover your points, and finally
think about how you would close a formal business presentation.
There is no limit to the number of presentation slides you can have.
Reconsider the analysis tools you used in your report. The judges have not seen these, and there
is no obligation to use all of them. Equally, if you think you missed something before, consider
including it, but make sure you are comfortable taking questions on all subject matters.
All team members should participate in the presentation. Think about the roles of your team
members. Will you appoint someone to lead the presentation and hand over at various points, or
will you take a section each? Try to maximise the potential of the dynamics of your group.
Remember your audience - you are presenting to the board of directors of a large international
company, so keep this in mind in all aspects of your delivery.
You are welcome to produce handouts or extra slides in anticipation of judges‟ questions, but
remember that they will not have very much time to read them. These are not compulsory and will
not be officially marked.
There will be a presentation clicker for you to control the slides.
We will hold up „5 minutes to go‟ and „2 minutes to go‟ signs to let you know when your time is
nearly up. We will ring a bell when your time is up and you will need to stop immediately. It is
important to practice the timing of your presentation so it doesn‟t run over.
Q&A session
There is no limit to the number of questions that the judges ask, but they only have 10 minutes,
and they will be timed, just as you are. The more thorough your answers, the fewer questions
they can ask!
The judges may not direct their questions to a specific team member so nominate someone for
each section of the presentation so you know who will answer.
If you are asked a question but feel it is more appropriate for another team member, you can
state your reasons and pass it over.
If more than one person wants to say something in response to a question, this is fine.
Format:
 MS PowerPoint 2007.
Synopsis
The judges will have the opportunity to view this before the event. It should be a condensed version of
your report, which gives some background information and key facts that support your presentation.
Format:
 two pages
 MS Word 2007 or PDF format
 Arial, 12pt, left aligned, 1.0pt spacing, 1 inch margin on all sides.
Video
As part of each regional final, all teams are required submit a short video clip (maximum of two minutes).
The task is to demonstrate your creativity by producing a promotional video for CIMA. Videos will be
played before your presentation on the day of the final. The winning team's video will also be entered into
the global video competition, with a chance to win two different awards.
Format:
 the video must be produced according to the guide document, sent out previously. If you require
another copy, please email [email protected]
5. Global final

Johannesburg, South Africa. Further information for the winning team will be provided later.
