The climate of the Comunidad de Madrid
The Comunidad de Madrid has got two very different climates: a mountain climate
and a continental Mediterranean climate.
The mountain climate is typical of the Sierra de Guadarrama and Somosierra areas.
In these areas, temperatures are very low in autumn and winter, and mild in spring and summer.
Precipitation is abundant, except in summer. In winter, the precipitation takes the form of snow.
The rest of the Comunidad de Madrid has got a continental Mediterranean climate.
Temperatures are high in summer and low in winter.
Precipitation is scarce and takes place mostly in spring and autumn.
