On Sunday 3rd April I will be running the Warwick Half Marathon to raise money for Asthma UK. The Lees family know from
first-hand experience the challenges faced by Asthma suffers and thanks to the excellent research by Asthma UK my Mother,
Father and Brother in law all manage their asthma and it doesn’t stop them from doing anything!
My wonderful brother in law, Mark, is running the London Marathon on April 24th and he is running for Asthma UK in one of
their sponsored charity places. Mark suffers from Asthma and has done since he was at secondary school. He is a fitness fanatic and will no doubt run 26 miles in a very impressive time; with his inhalers in his pocket! I wanted to support him but I am
not up to running a full marathon! So I am doing a half marathon… 13 miles is still a long way!
Many children at Canterbury Cross suffer from variations of asthma and the work of this charity help the advances in medication research to ensure that our children can live healthy and active lives.
If you would like to donate, the link to Mark Lees’ “Virgin Money Giving” page is below. I am using Mark’s page so that any
sponsorship I get goes towards Mark’s total.

If you want to come and cheer me on then please pop into the office for details.
Every penny counts!
Thank you for your support!

E-Safety Tip
It is World Book
Day today. We have been
looking at books all week.
Instead of playing on a
computer or tablet choose
a book to enjoy.
Extended Holidays
May we remind parents that
holidays during term time are
NOT allowed. In 2013 the
Government decided that
schools could no longer
authorise holidays for children.
If you take your children on
holiday you can be fined by the
Local Authority. Also your child
could lose their school place.
Sickness Bugs
If your child has
vomited or has
diarrhoea during the night or
before school please do not
send them into school. They
need to stay at home for 48
hours until the bug has
cleared.
If we send your child home
they must be kept at home
for 48 hours and not
returned to school the next
day.
World Book Day
We are celebrating
World Book Day
tomorrow Friday 4th
March. Children can
come to school dressed
as a character from
any children’s book.
Mr Din’s Homework
It is Mother’s Day
on Sunday. Tell me
about your mum or someone
who is very special to you.
Think of everything they do
for you.
Dinner Money
School dinner money is £8.20
per week Monday to Thursday.
If your child is in Friday Club
and they wish to have a hot
meal then the total for the week is
£10.25.
Children need to stay on their current
lunchtime arrangement until after half
term.
