CENTRAL AMERICA MAYAN TRIANGLE

Day 1 – Arrival at Antigua Guatemala.
(Before 20 Hrs) Arrive at Guatemala and transfer
to Antigua, once the capital of all Central America.
This is one of the best preserved colonial towns in
the American Continent and it was declared a
UNESCO World Heritage Site. (Room available after
2:00 p.m.)
Day 2 – Antigua Guatemala
Enjoy a full day at leisure to pursue independent
activities and explore this colonial city; do not
forget to visit the first University, the Cathedral,
Las Capucinas Convent and The Jade Museum. (B)

Day 3 Chichicastenango Market and Atitlan
Lake.
Visit the Chichicastenango Market, the most
important and impressive open air market in
Central America and its church Santo Tomás.
Continue on your tour to Lake Atitlan, one of the
most beautiful lakes in the world according to
experts. Take a glimpse of the spectacular beauty of
the lake and walk through the streets of Panajachel
and its lakeside market. (B)
Day 4 – Copan Ruins
Early Morning depart to the ancient city of Copan.
Copan’s sprawling ruins provide an insight into
how this fascinating culture once lived. Its massive
structures and skillfully carved stonework are
impressive reminders of the remarkable and
advanced Maya civilization. Today you will visit the
ruins to discover Copan’s enormous temples,
plazas and monuments. Ornate stelas divulge the
astronomical and mathematical wisdom of the
Maya. Travel time approx. 4.5 hrs. (B) Overnight
in Copan
Day 05 – Copan Ruins - San Salvador
After breakfast, depart to El Salvador, on route you
will stop at Santa Ana City, with its impressive
theater built during the gold era of coffee exports.
Also see Joya de Cerén a World Heritage Site that
shows you the daily life of the Mayan interrupted
by the explosion of a nearby volcano. Arrive at the
capital city at sunset. (B)
Day 6 The Coffee and Flowers Route.
Today you will visit The Coffee Process Plantation
and The Flowers route, where some of the best
Coffee of El Salvador are produced, also the colorful
Towns of Ataco, Juayua and Izalco. (B)
Day 7– San Salvador City tour
Start the day with a city tour of San Salvador where
you will visit The Devil’s Door, National Palace,
Residential Neighborhoods and more. After lunch
we will stop at the handcraft market and visiting El
Boquerón National Park. There you will have a
spectacular view of the inside crater of San
Salvador’s volcano. Return by your own. Overnight
at San Salvador. (B)
Day 8 – Day at the Beach at La libertad or El
Pimental
No visit to Central America would be complete
without swimming at some of the best beaches in
the region. Overnight at San Salvador (B, L)
Day 9 – Depart from El Salvador
At a convenient time, transfer to the airport for
your flight to your onward destination.
