Fraction Operations Part 2
Lab – Multiplication Game
You and your partner will need fraction cards made from this set. Cut out the cards,
shuffle them and divide them evenly between two players.
On the line plot label each line segment by 8ths, (eg. 1/8, 2/8, 3/8, etc.). Each player
will pick 2 cards and multiply the fractions. Once the product is found, the player should
put a mark on the number line where it would place. Each player will have 12 marks on
the number line.
1. Look at the line plot. Which values came up the most?
2. Which values did not come up?
3. The tick marks on the number line correspond to eighths. Which of the eighths
will never come up as a product of two of these cards? Why?
