Cover GPR Requirements[3]

HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR GRADE POINT AVERAGE (GPA)
1. Assign grade points to the letter grade you receive.
2. Multiply the number of grade points your grade is worth by the number of credit hours in your
course.
3. Add all of the totals from #1.
4. Divide the total from #2 by the number of total credit hours.
5. The end result will give you your Grade Point Average (GPA) calculation.
STLC 101 = 2 credits
MATH 151 = 4 credits
STLC 289 = 4 credits
PHYS 218 = 4 credit
ENGR 111 = 2 credits
UGST 181 = 1 credits
17 credits total
A = 4 grade points
B = 3 grade points
C = 2 grade points
D = 1 grade point
F = 0 grade points
EXAMPLE: A student receives their final grades for the semester for the above listed courses.
Their final grades are:
Class
STLC 101
MATH 151
STLC 289
PHYS 218
ENGR 111
UGST 181
Final Grade

They would calculate their GPA as follows:

Add up all the results:
6+12+8+4+0+4=34 total grade points
Divide the total grade points by the total number of credits hours:
34 divided by 17 = 2.00 GPA
The semester GPA is 2.00. To calculate a cumulative GPA, you will need to do the same math for
all semesters combined.
To calculate your cumulative GPA, use the above example but combine all semesters with a
running total. Add the grade points from each semester together and divide by the total number of
hours/credits attempted for all semesters. This will give you your cumulative GPA.
