The Glencoe Wildlife Refuge The refuge is a 32-acre fenced park to the south of Oak Leaf Park. Surrounded by a maintained walking path with shaded benches for observation, visitors can observe stunning close up views of elk, white tail deer, swans, waterfowl, pheasants, peacocks and llamas. Visitors enjoy a peaceful nature experience, complete with the sound of the gurgling Buffalo Creek, chirping of birds, and visits from the wildlife to the fence. The Glencoe Sportsmen’s Club runs the preserve, and it is funded through fund raisers and private donations. Don’t forget an apple or carrots as they will enjoy this treat at the fence! Farmers’ Market The Glencoe Area Farmers’ Market season begins in Mid-June each year and runs through Mid-October. The market is open every Thursday from 3-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9-noon. Our market vendors are committed to providing a variety of fresh, locally-grown produce and baked goods. Our goal is to make it possible for everyone to have a safe and enjoyable visit to our Parks. 820 and 1020 E. 18th St. Glencoe’s flagship park is Oak Leaf Park, comprised of a thirty eight acre multi-recreational site along the Buffalo Creek on the south side of town. The park is home to the Glencoe Aquatic Center, shaded picnic areas, fishing pond, large children’s play area, disc golf course, baseball and softball fields, soccer field, basketball court, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball courts walking and biking paths, camping spots and more. The park has five shelters available for rent. This park truly has something for everyone! The park can be reached from Highway 212 by exiting on Morningside Avenue or Chandler Avenue. The Glencoe Country Club features an 18-hole course flowing through 106 acres of picturesque terrain in the southeast corner of Glencoe. Uninterrupted play, a PGA golf-professional, driving range, putting green, group and individual lessons, pro-shop, restaurant, bar and banquet facilities are all available. Holly Days Parade Saturday after Thanksgiving – 6 p.m. The Holly Days Parade, one of the region’s largest lighted parades, is a fun, family, holiday event that features thousands of lights.
