Autumn Term A 2014
Please complete the activities below in the correct order. Activities can be
completed in Home Learning Logs or on separate sheets if appropriate. Completed
home learning has to be handed in every Friday. Thanks for your support, Year 4
team.
PLEASE REMEMBER
Reading Journals are expected to be written in every single day and must
be handed in each morning at school.
Week One (due Friday 12th September)
Design a poster for a classroom display about your class’ famous person, Cool or
Crum. What are they famous for? What other information can you find out about
them?
Week Two (due Friday 19th September)
Create a fact file about Anciet Egyptians. Here are some ideas of things you could
research: Who was the most famous Pharaoh? Why are Pyramids important?
Name one thing the Ancient Egyptains invented that we still use today.
How did the Egyptians write their alphabet? Who is Howard Carter?
Week Three (due Friday 26th September)
Design an experiment to show the difference between solids and liquids.
Remember to include the instructions and pictures.
Week Four (due Friday 3rd October)
Design a game board based on place value. Remember to include instructions on
how to play the game and how to score points; ideally use cardboard for this.
Week Five (due Friday 10th October)
Keep a diary of weather conditions for a week. Draw pictures and write facts
about the weather each day.
Week Six (due Friday 17th October)
Design and make an Ancient Egyptian Pyramid out of card/cardboard.

Complete some research using the internet or books from the local library
on topics we have been covering in school.
