Posters must be dismounted at the conclusion of the session. Bring only items that can be mounted on the poster board. Electrical outlets will not be available. You may display items on your poster board that relate to your abstract/poster presentation only. No soliciting is allowed; therefore any non-presentation related items will be removed from your board. All items for posting must be prepared in advance. Graphic supplies or services will not be available. Your poster number will be supplied by AAPS; however, we do request that you include your poster number in the upper left hand corner of your produced poster. This will help identify any posters not immediately removed during the transition time between sessions. AAPS provides the poster board, abstract number, push pins, and an envelope (for the collection of business cards). Be sure to remove your envelope of business cards at the end of your session. AAPS is not able to save or forward envelopes to the author(s). PHOTOGRAPHY OR FILMING OF ANY KIND —ON ANY DEVICE —IS NOT PERMITTED ON THE POSTER FLOOR. Poster Format The poster presentation is not a formal, oral presentation. You should focus on creating complete and detailed graphics and visuals so that you can answer questions, rather than giving attendees a lengthy oral presentation. Each poster, whether professionally produced or other, should include the following information: (See Example at the bottom of next page.) 1. The poster board is 8 feet wide by 4 feet high (2.44 x 1.22 meters) (Landscape Orientation). 2. The mounting surface (usable space) is 7’ 10” wide by 3’ 10” high (2.38 x 1.16 meters). It is recommended that your poster presentation, whether professionally produced or not, fill the ‘usable space’ of the board as much as possible. 3. AAPS also provides push pins to hang the poster and an envelope, which will be tacked to your poster board. These can be used to collect business cards from attendees who wish to discuss your abstract at a later day or time. 4. Assigned Poster number in the upper left hand corner. 5. Title (Exactly as it appears in the submitted abstract) and Author Names 6. Copy of the Abstract (verbatim) as submitted. (If your abstract is not included within the poster, then a separate paper posted on the board, will suffice.) 7. Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusions in Large Print as headings. Content in each of these areas should be brief and preferably in the form of short sentences. In the case of multiple objectives in the Purpose, they should be listed in order of decreasing importance. 8. If your poster is not professionally produced, prepare and bring with you all illustrations needed for your presentation (figures, tables, photographs, printed materials, etc.). Mount labels and illustrations on the poster board by means of velcro dots. AAPS will provide velcro dots. 9. Handout materials may be tacked to the poster board. Only poster related materials are allowed (no sales or educational institution flyers). All non-poster related materials will be removed.
