Mineral Research Project
Objective: To research and identify important characteristics of a mineral from
the provided list of minerals. The findings will be presented in a research paper.
The paper will address questions from the list of questions below. The paper
should be 3-5 pages long and be written in MLA format.
You will find some great resources from my web site as well as numerous other
sites, books, journals, and articles. You should reference at least 3 different
sources for your research.
Address the following questions:

Where can the mineral be found (globally)/
What environmental conditions must exist?
How long does it take for crystals to form?
What are the unique identifying characteristics of the mineral?
How is the mineral extracted?
What is the mineral used for?
What are the hazards, precautions, and/or safety issues pertaining to the
mineral or the extraction exist?
 What is the economic value of the mineral?
 Are there any laws that pertain to the mineral or extraction of the mineral?
