Garden layout example 1
1. Timer: per 30 m² lawn area, please program one hour of operation time per day. Example: For a lawn of 300 m², from
7.00 until 17.00 or from 7.00 until 12.00 and again from 15.00 until 20.00 (all days a week). During that operation time, the
mower will decide it self when to mow and when to charge. You can also increase the time per day and skip cutting one day
per week.
2. The lawn next to walkways on which the robotic lawnmower R40Li can drive will be mown completetly.
3. Next to flower beds, bark mulch or gravel, 12 cm of lawn will not be mown. You can place paving stones into the border
area to avoid this.
4. In between an island and the lawn edge, please place the two wires tight to each other (0 cm). Then the signal will become
invisible and the mower will be able to pass.
5. Close to walls or other fixed barriers, 20 cm of lawn will not be mown. You can place paving stones next to these walls or
objects to avoid this.
6. The boundary wire defines the working area.
7. The guide wire leads the robotic lawnmower the way back to the charging station.
8. On both sides of the charging station, the boundary wire needs to be placed straight for 1.5 m. This will help the robotic
lawnmower to dock safely to the charging station.
9. Required free space in front of charging station: min. 3 meters.
10. Consider the distance of the charging station to a wall socket. The included low voltage cable is 10 meters long (a 20 meter
cable is available as accessory). The low voltage cable must not be shortened or prolonged due to technical reasons (resistance). The charging station has to be placed on even ground (without inclination).
11. A passage has to be minimum 1.5 m wide.

9. A passage has to be minimum 1.5 m wide.
10. On the lawn, the robotic lawnmower can manage slopes up to 25%.
11. The maximum inclination for the boundary wire when layed in the slope is 25%.
12. The maximum inclination is 10% when the boundary wire runs crossways to the inclination. If operating with a higher
inclination, the robotic lawnmower could slip outside the working area in wet grass. If there is a fix limitation (e.g. fence), the
robotic lawnmower can manage an inclination up to 25%.

10. Around ponds, the boundary wire has to be layed with a distance of 30 cm to a fixed limitation (e.g. fence) with a minimum
height of 15 cm.
11. Individual / separate areas which cannot be reached by the robotic lawnmower on it‘s own (e.g. because of stairs) can be
mown in a manual operation mode. The robotic lawnmower then needs to be carried to this lawn area and will operate there
until the battery is empty. After that it has to be carried back to the charging station.

Garden layout example 4
Working area including passage, fence, water feature, path and an island.
•
Around the pool the boundary wire must be supplemented with a fence or barrier. The height must then be a minimum of 15
cm. This will prevent the robotic lawnmower from ending up in the pond under any circumstances.
•
The boundary wire is placed 30 cm from the barrier. In this case the robotic lawnmower will not be scratched by the barrier
and circa 20 cm grass will not be cut.
•
Since the path surface is level with the lawn it is possible to allow the robotic lawnmower to run over the path.
•
The boundary wire must be placed at minimum 1.5 meters 90° to the left and to the right from the charging station to make
sure that the robotic lawnmower can safely dock in the charging station every time. This is the reason for placing the charging station at minimum of 1.5 meters from any corner of the working area.
•
The guide wire is placed at minimum of 30 cm from the boundary wire, to the right side of the guide wire (seen towards the
charging station) to avoid any interference.
