Everything is free of charge to school aged children K-12 (must have a parent or guardian present for medical services) and the child must be present to receive a backpack. No appointments needed. This event will include school physicals, backpacks for all elementary students, games and more. Free school supplies, physicals (no sport), haircuts and healthy snacks. Over 30 family and health service organizations are expected to attend to share information to families. There will be free sport and school physicals along with other wellness exams will be onsite. All indoor amenities will also be free including our large indoor playground (Playworld), game room, fitness room, walking track and a BOGO at the Highland Family Aquatic Center. A day to come out and play!! Vendors will be present to promote products and/or services that focus on children and families. In addition, there will be back to school giveaways. Back packs and school supplies will be given out to community members. Additionally, vendors will be present to provide a variety of services that range from health services, education, literacy, adult services, voter registration, etc. This event will include the presence of community health groups, local businesses and other community groups. In addition, there will be physicals for youth, food truck vendors for purchase, and activities to participate in. The focus for the event is to promote community involvement in the welfare of the children in the Pinellas County area. Note that the Healthy Start Coalition of Pinellas is not organizing these events- we are just sharing the information with our community!
