Art Contest

To celebrate, we’re having an art contest. Winners will have their art displayed along the
Wildcat Mountain Trail System as a reminder to users that the Wildcat Mountain Trail
(to the cliffs) is closed for nesting protection of these beautiful and sensitive birds of prey.

submitted to Southridge Recreation Center no later than Monday,
May 9th.

age as follows: 7-8 years, 9-10 years, 11-12 years,

Rules & Guidelines:
We allow one entry per person between the ages of 7-14 years as of May 31st, 2016. All
entries will be grouped and judged by age as follows: 7-8 years, 9-10 years, 11-12 years, 13-14
years.

No substitutions or new versions of submissions will be accepted under any circumstance once the original is submitted for consideration. Submissions will not be returned
or acknowledged. Proof of submission is not considered proof of delivery to or receipt of
such entry. HRCA will have no liability for any submission that is lost, intercepted, damaged, or not received by HRCA for any reason.

All entries must have a complete entry form signed by the parent/guardian. By
signing, parents grant permission for their child’s artwork and first name to be used in all
media for advertising and promotional purposes, on the website, at the recreation centers,
and/or on the HRCA trails or as seen fit without compensation.

All entries must be a hand-done creation on paper no larger than 9x12”. Photographs
and computer-generated pieces will not be accepted. All entries must be of original, unpublished, and previously unproduced work. Artwork should not have the artist’s signature, initials, or name on the front—any with this will be disqualified. Entries must be
received by Maura Bishop at Southridge Recreation Center by Monday, May 9th to be considered. Entries should be addressed to:

Art will be posted at Southridge Recreation Center from May 12-May 19, 2016. Visitors will be allowed place one vote per age group. Submissions will also be posted on the
Backcountry Facebook page (Facebook.com/HRCABackcountry) where the public can cast
their vote by liking a picture. The top five pieces of each age group will be the ones with
the most votes both online and at the rec center. HRCA Southridge staff will vote on a
winner from within those top five. The Grand Prize winner will be chosen out of all the
submitted art, regardless of age group. The Grand Prize winner must attend one of the
Outdoor Discovery Camps nature themed camps during the 2016 year (camps run May 31Aug. 4). Winners will be announced May 20, 2016.

Artists may pick up their artwork from Southridge Recreation Center between May
24-June 30th. Any unclaimed art may be destroyed.
