Food Bank Collection
This term we will be supporting
the Gt Yarmouth food bank
once again. There is a
collection point in the
entrance lobby. If you
could buy an extra tin or packet each
week when shopping we can help those
in need.
MacMillan Coffee Morning
You will have seen the boxes Mr Branch
has been leaving outside, these are for
the MacMillan Coffee Morning bottle
tombola stall the School Council will be
running. Please leave any donations in
the appropriate box for your child’s
class. Please remember the stall will be
run by children so alcohol is not
appropriate.
Request from Pre School
We were shocked to hear from Pre
School that children from Fairhaven
have been urinating in the bushes
outside the village hall. Please do not
let your children do this, it is a
hygiene issue for Pre School and all
other users and to be honest, it is
unacceptable.
A big thank you to
Mr Muff - Our small school was faced with
an unusual problem when 34 African drums
were delivered at the beginning of term.
Beech class will learn to play these during
the year which will be lots of fun. However,
the drums took up as much space as a class
of children and although they could be
stacked (the drums not the children) we
didn’t have anywhere to put them. Mr Muff
came to the rescue and with help from Mr
Branch and Mr Burton he liberated an
obsolete shed from Lingwood School and
brought it back to Fairhaven. Mr Muff then
spent Saturday reconstructing the shed
which is now fully in use. Thank you Mr
Muff.
Car Park
Please could you take care around the
cars in the car park, particularly when
your children are opening car doors,
making sure they do not bang into the
other cars causing damage.

New After School Club
Mrs Masters & Mrs Cooper will be restarting
art club on Wednesday. This club will be
for children in Years 2 to 6 and will run until
4.30pm. Their first project will be to design
and make a new welcome board for our
entrance. If your child would like to join art
club please return the slip at the end of the
newsletter.
Nature Club
At Wednesday’s Nature Club we had a very
special visitor in the form of Jester the
Bengal Eagle Owl. The owner, Debbie
Hagan, kindly brought him in and we spent a
very happy hour together captivated by his
beauty and huge eyes! The children asked
lots of excellent questions and we all
learned a great deal and are now wise as
well as the owl! Jester is 7 years old but
may live to be 30! Some of the children had
the chance to have Jester on their gloved
hand. We were amazed at how big his wing
span is probably around 1metre. We were
thrilled to meet Jester and hope that he will
visit us again soon. Thank you very much
Mrs Hagan for bringing in Jester and for her
time and patience.
Ferrel Circus
We went to The Ferrel Circus on
Thursday evening and we were both in
it. It was very exciting because it was
held in a big top. On Tuesday Beech
and Oak classes went to a circus
workshop and we learnt to spin plates,
use a diablo and do lots of other things.
As a result we were able to take part in
the performance when our parents took
us. We had to spin socks with balls in
them and juggle with cloths. Things went
a bit wrong when George’s pom pom fell
apart. There was a knife thrower but we
didn’t take part in that. It was lots of fun
and we liked the clown who spurted
water at us.

A trip to the circus
On 16th September, Oak and Beech
classes went on a mind blowing circus
trip. We had a great time and came
back with smiles on our faces.
We couldn’t wait to jump off the bus and
warm up our skills. As our classes
turned the corner we were in for a big
surprise. Ahead of us we saw a giant
circus tent. We tried different skills like
the diablo, juggling with silky scarves
and the poye – they were very
enjoyable.
Also, we watched a funny clown get our
friends soaked head to toe it was
excellent with all the entertainment, but
the day came to an end quicker than we
imagined. As each and everyone of us
sadly walked onto the bus but excited
that we could practise our new found
skills back at home and school.
