K5 - 8th grade STANDARDIZED DRESS CODE GUIDELINES
SHIRTS (Boys & Girls)
 Polo-style shirts (2 or 3 buttons; one must be buttoned) with collar; same color pockets
 Any solid color (short or long sleeve); no logos, stripes, prints, etc.
 CHBCS eagle shirts with collar (any color) – purchased only at Expert T’s (no other logos)
 Long sleeve turtle necks in the above solid colors (cold weather only)
 Shirts must be tucked in at all times while on campus; belts must be able to be seen
 Plaid shirts or any type of shirt or blouse cannot be worn as a coat, sweater or jacket.
 Sweatshirts, pullover or cardigan sweaters must have uniform shirt worn under them; No inappropriate pictures, logos or
words; demonic in nature or that promote a non- Christ like lifestyle.
 Sweaters, coats & jackets of appropriate size and style (no oversized allowed)
 Camouflaged jackets are allowed if properly sized.
SHORTS & SLACKS (Boys & Girls)
 Khaki, navy or black,docker-style walking shorts/slacks (with or without cuffs) flaps across the front are acceptable.
 Cargo pants or shorts – with pockets low on leg – are not permitted.
 Length of shorts: no shorter than 3” above knee
 Length of slacks: top of shoes, straight leg; must be hemmed properly
 Properly sized belts for all clothing with belt loops
 No metal rivets, no more that 4 pockets, no hip-hugger style & no tight fitting or oversized
SKIRTS & CAPRIS (Girls)
 Khaki, navy or black, K5- 5th / skirts no shorter that 3” above the knee, 6th-8th /skirts plain, straight, it may have a modest
slit in back or side, knee length or longer with no corduroy or stretchy material for any grade.
 Capris in khaki, navy or black; mid-calf length; uniform style; no tight or loose fitting sizes; no stretchy material
SHOES:






HAIR:

All students must wear shoes/sandals.
Clean, neat shoes or athletic shoes with proper laces, and matching socks must be worn
Girls may wear stockings or tights, but no leggings.
No sounds, lights or wheels
Sandals with back straps may be worn without socks.
Girl’s heels cannot be higher than 2”.
No military style boots.
Boys’ hair is not to touch or hang below the eyebrows, collar of the shirt or top of the ears; no bushy or shaggy hair; side
burns no longer than middle of ear.
 Hair implements such as rubber bands, bead, etc. are not allowed for boys.
 Bowl cuts, spiked hair, braided hair or shaved heads are not allowed for boys.
 Boys’ and Girls’ hair can be highlighted but with no unnatural colors or bleaching.
 Boys’ and Girls’ hair must be neatly combed. Hair may not be distracting in style or cut, no mohawks,fau-hawks or rat-tails.
 No facial hair of any kind.
IN ADDITION:
 No body or facial piercings or tattoos (real or temporary).
 Modest cosmetics (no dark lipstick) and jewelry (earrings are for girls only – 1 or 2 piercings per ear); only 1 necklace & 1
bracelet for boys or girls, no distracting jewelry.
 Buttons, pins and hats may be worn only on specific days; no hats, caps, sweatbands or sunglasses permitted before,
during or after school.
Three or more violations of any dress code regulation will result in the loss of N.U.T. (No Uniform Today) privileges.
Parents will be informed through the Student Assignment Book if their child is out of dress code on a particular day. Continued
dress code violations will result in more severe punishment.

GUIDELINES





Children may wear tops and shorts appropriate for this age group. However, CHBCS asks that they not wear shirts with
distasteful or distracting logos. No tank tops or short shorts are allowed.
Shoes must be comfortable. No sandals, backless shoes, boots, cleats, shoes that light up or make noise are allowed.
Girls heels cannot be higher than 2”.
No tattoos ( real or temporary) and no earrings for boys.
Boys’ hair is to be no longer than the top of the collar in the back, above the eyebrows and ears in the front. Hair may not
be distracting in color or cut, spiked, braided, with rubber bands or beads.
No shaved portions of the head are allowed

Just A Note…
Students and teachers always look forward to N.U.T. Day. Occurring
on the first Friday of each month, it gives us a nice break from our usual
attire.
Three or more violations of any dress code regulation will result in
the loss of N.U.T. Day privileges the next month. Parents will be informed
through the student assignment book if their child is out of dress code on a
particular day.

“N.U.T.” (No Uniform Today) DAY GUIDELINES
The first Friday of each month is “NUT” day. This means that students do not need to wear
uniforms on this day. See the following guidelines for dress code:
BOYS:


Jeans or other slacks or shorts (no shorter than 3” above the knee); must fit properly –
not too tight or baggy; no low riders; no sweatpants
Shirts must fit properly; no tank tops, see-through or netted; no inappropriate wording,
skulls & cross bones or music groups.
GIRLS:









Jeans or other slacks or shorts (no shorter than 3” above the knee); must fit properly –
not too tight or baggy; no low riders
Skirts, dresses & skorts can be no shorter than 3” above the knee
No leggings
No stretch-type slacks, shorts, capris or sweat pants.
Shirts may be sleeveless, but no spaghetti straps or tank tops.
Must fit properly (not too tight or baggy)
Must fit appropriately under the arms and around the waistline
No see through, netted shirts or clothing, no holes, rips, etc.
No inappropriate pictures, logo or words; demonic in nature or that promote a non-Christ
like lifestyle.
Shoes for boys and girls may be tennis shoes, sandals or boots with socks; no flip flops or slideon sandals (must have strap around the heel). Jewelry and hair will follow the regular dress code
guide lines.
The administration makes all final decisions,
regardless of the N.U.T. Day guidelines.
