Preface
This document is aimed at providing an overview of the Technical Enhancements done in 1.5.1
release (build no.1.5.1.12) for the following:
1. User Friendly Warning Messages
2. Error/Warning Messages during Evolution Login
3. System Alerts
This document is intended for Medtech Evolution Certified Engineers, Practice Managers and
System Administrators.

Chapter 1: User Friendly Warning Messages
In this Release, User friendly warning messages are provided to enable Users to take proper
action during a system event:
Warning Message Type
Description
Advance Form License Expiry
A Warning message will be displayed on expiry of
Advanced Forms License
Device
issues
A Warning Message will be displayed when device is
not accessible from the System (E.g. : Scanner)
availability /accessibility
Record not saved
A Warning Message will be displayed if the record
could not be saved to the system due to
environmental issues (E.g. Printer not accessible)
Missing File Paths
A Warning Message will be displayed when file
cannot be located in a specified path
Missing Folder Paths
A Warning Message will be displayed when a folder
cannot be located in a specified path
Advance Form License Expiry
When advanced form license date expires then User will be prompted with the following

Messages for Device availability/accessibility issues
A New warning message will be provided whenever a device attached to the computer is not
accessible.
Note
The message will differ based on what device the warning is for.

Message displayed if a Record is not saved
A Warning message will now be provided when record has not been saved due to
environmental or Database Connectivity Issues.
For Instance, record may not be saved due to network issue or any other environmental issues.
These instances will be notified to User through the warning message

Messages for missing File Paths
Evolution will now give a warning message when a particular file cannot be located in the
specified path. For example, warning message will be displayed if file or folder is not available in
message transfer configuration settings
Messages for missing Folder Paths in HLINK
Evolution will now monitor the physical path in the Health link folder and provide a Selfexplanatory warning message when a defined folder in Health Link is missing.

Chapter 2: Error/Warning Messages during
Evolution Login
Warning Messages have been added during the Login Process to notify and inform users that a
problem occurred and also explain the reason. Moreover, a self-explanatory message will be
prompted for the users to understand the Issue and take appropriate actions.

A Warning Message will be displayed when Product region is not set in the Application
Configuration File. In these Circumstances, default Product region will be automatically set in the
Application Configuration file.
An Error Message will be displayed now when DBSettings.xml file is not available and application
will be closed automatically.
An Error Message will be displayed now when connection string does not exist in DBSettings.xml
file and application will be closed automatically.

Chapter 3: System Alerts
System Alert is introduced in Evolution to ensure that Users are notified whether any of the
required settings are NOT available to run the application.
System Alert Color differentiation and Notification
A System Alert Notification icon has been introduced in the status bar in the main window of
Medtech Evolution. Clicking on the icon will open the System Alert Window.
The System Alert icon will be displayed in Red if there are Critical messages
The System Alert icon will be displayed in amber if there are less critical messages
System Alert – Categorization
Prerequisite tab is to notify User about essentials required by the application to run. For example,
if the User is not provided with Hlink Folder Permissions then it will be notified under this Tab
Environment tab will list down the different Third party Dlls required in the System. For example
Internet Connection (MMH, Advanced Form, eSAM), ActiveX controls (Advanced Form),
FontMTNew) are grouped under Environment Alerts

Security tab provides timely information about current security issues, vulnerabilities. For
example, OCX and Interop Alerts are grouped under this tab.

Alert will Notify User about ActiveX controls being disabled in the internet explorer settings.
ActiveX controls setting should be enabled in internet explorer setting to launch advanced
forms.

Component not installed
OCXAlert Alert
OCXAlert Alert will be notified when Third Party dependent files are missing in the System. For
example, Warning will be displayed when Third party DLL required for Eftpos Integration is
missing.
InteropAlert
InteropAlert will be notified to indicate that dependent Microsoft file is missing in the system. User
needs to install the required DLL to support Microsoft documents in the system
Fonts not installed
FontMTNew Alert will be notified to the User when MTNew Font dll is not installed in the System.
Symbols in daily record and Task Manager will be displayed only when FontMTNew Dll is installed
in the system
