Fitness Fun at WCA 1 Corinthians 6:1920 “ Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.” Watching what you and your child eat is just as important as the physical activity you are promoting each day. Apples are normally harvested in early fall. What benefits can you receive from apples? How can an “apple a day” help you and your child with fitness? Here are ways God designed the apple to benefit us: ❖ They have a great amount of Vitamin C – an antioxidant that keeps you from getting sick. ❖ The skin of the apple provides insoluble fiber which helps in digestion and can prevent some cancers. ❖ The fleshy part of the apple provides soluble fiber, one of which is pectin, to help with cholesterol building up in arteries. ❖ They are full of Bcomplex vitamins for healthy red blood cells. ❖ Other antioxidants found in the apple help keep your nervous system healthy. ❖ They can increase your endurance ability in exercise if eaten before activity. Take advantage of the cooler weather that is beginning and enjoy these fun activities with your child: ✔ take a walk in a park – we have many in our area! ✔ ride bikes ✔ visit the Farmer's Market or an apple orchard to learn more about fresh fruits and vegetables available this time of year Remember: For every 30 minutes of activity your child receives 1 Fitness Unit!
