J C Prep School Friday 10th March 2017 Dear Parents, Family and Friends of JC Prep Swimarathon success Well done to all of the girls in KS2 who took part in the Swimarathon this morning. The girls swam incredibly well, swimming over 400 lengths of the pool. They also raised £2,000 in sponsorship money for local charities. A special congratulations to the JCP staff team who also took the plunge! Eco News Thank you for all of the wonderful Fairtrade cakes that were brought in for our Fairtrade 'Bake Off' today. The staff had a really tough decision sampling (and re-sampling!) the cakes at lunch time and whittling it down to 5 finalists. The winners will be announced in assembly on Monday! The 'Bake Off' concludes our Fairtrade Fortnight celebrations, but look out for news of our next exciting campaign next week! We feel this is a very inexpensive way to engage youngsters and raise their awareness of the need to support the less fortunate in our Island. We are sure most people will have a spare tin of something or other in their cupboards! The event also involves offices, banks, lawyers, accountants, etc., as well as individual members of the public. If you feel able to participate, perhaps you could kindly let us know by replying to the designated e-mail <[email protected]>. The event takes place on Friday May 19th in West’s Centre between 07.30am and 3.00pm, where all the tins are sorted, ready for use either in one of the four Shelter residences or to be distributed in food parcels to those who may be struggling. Although some choose to deliver the tins on the day, which is very helpful, we are more than happy to collect a few days before, if you let us know. Please let us know if you can support this simple and inexpensive event. Posters will be available shortly. Please don’t hesitate to contact us by e-mailing me or the designated site [email protected] or on 07797760578 (Michelle) if you have any questions or queries. Many thanks. Kind regards, Michelle Cuthbert Dates for Your Diary: If new diary dates have been added, they will be highlighted in red.
