Como padre, usted es el campeón en el camino de su hijo desde preescolar hasta la
educación pos-secundaria. En nuestra escuela, apoyamos a su hijo al participar en el
aprendizaje con altas expectativas.
La adopción de las Normas Académicas Fundamentales de Arizona en todo el estado en 2010 refleja el compromiso
que ha asumido el estado de Arizona para garantizar que todos los estudiantes estén preparados exitosamente
para ingresar al siguiente nivel de grado y finalmente ser exitosos en la carrera universitaria o profesión que
elijan. En la primavera de 2015, los estudiantes se llevaron a cabo la evaluación AzMERIT por primera vez. Dicha
evaluación está alineada con los estándares más rigurosos de matemáticas, Lengua y literatura en inglés (ELA –
por sus siglas en inglés) para todos los estudiantes de Arizona.
AzMERIT mide diferentes habilidades y conocimientos que los de AIMS. Debido a esto, no se puede comparar
AzMERIT y AIMS. A nivel estatal, menos alumnos fueron competentes en AzMERIT que en AIMS. Y eso está bien.
AzMERIT y los estándares nuevos son un reinicio, es decir la nueva base de medición para el logro estudiantil.
Anticipemos que los niveles de competencia aumentarán con el transcurso del tiempo.
