Preamble Project Directions
Part One: Typing the Preamble:
1. Start Open Office
2. Click the Save Icon
3. Double Click “NeboMusicWork”
4. Double Click your grade
5. Double Click your teacher
6. Double Click your name
7. Type “Lastname Preamble” and click “Save”
8. Type the Preamble text. You may format the text any way you wish as
long as it is legible.
We the People of the United States, in Order to
form a more perfect Union, establish Justice,
insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the
common defense, promote the general Welfare,
and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves
and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this
Constitution for the United States of America.
9. Save you work and Close OpenOffice when you are finished typing.
Part Two: Drawing the American Flag
1. Start KolourPaint by clicking on the Paintbrush Icon.
2. Resize the Canvas so it is 300 by 400 pixels.
3. Click the Save Icon.
4. Click once on NeboMusicWork.
5. Click once on your grade.
6. Click once on your teacher.
7. Click once on your name.
8. Put “Lastname Flag” in the File name area. Click Save
9. Make a Drawing of the American Flag using Line Tools, Fill, and Shapes.
The drawing needs to have 7 Red Stripes and 6 White stripes and the Blue
Field. While the real American Flag has 50 stars, you may simulate stars.
The Flag does not have to be 100% accurate.
10. Close the Paint Program. Click the “white x” and click “save.”
Part Three: Inserting the Flag picture into your Preamble
1. Open your “Lastname Preamble” (House->NeboMusicwork->Grace>Teacher->YourName->Lastname Preamble”)
2. Click “Insert-Picture-From File” and navigate to your directory.
3. Click on “Lastname Flag” and click Open.
4. Resize and position Flag as needed.
5. Use shapes to decorate document.
6. Save and Print your work.
