Introduction The MV-8 is an 8-input multiviewer designed by Orad, for use with various Orad applications. MV-8 gathers multiple video inputs, and outputs one composit picture with different, definable video window layouts. 1. Introduction | 1 2. MV-8 Setup Back Panel - connections Power Cable Video Inputs DVI/VGA 75 Ω SD/HD All required connections are made using the unit’s back panel; • GPIO - NA in this version • LTC IN - NA in this version • 75 Ω - Analog reference termination. 3. MV-8 Setup Power Switch AN.REF. Set to ON if MV-8 is last on reference chain. Set to OFF if second connector is connected to Analog reference input of another device. IS THIS CORRECT? • AN.REF. - connect the analog reference input cable when not using digital reference. • Video inputs - SDI / HD-SDI (according to the selected standard). Video Output - From OUT1 only; SDI/ HD-SDI (according to the selected standard). • DVI/VGA HD configuration - this port handles DVI output. The DVI screen must support full HD (1920X1080i) resolution. SD configuration - this port handles the VGA to SD component (using the dedicated cable provided by Orad. • Network (ETH) - NA in this version • MIC/LINE - NA in this version • Audio Cable in - NA in this version • SD/HD - this switch must be in the required position before you switch the unit on. Back Panel - connections | 3 Powering On To turn on the unit: ■ Switch ON the power switch on the back panel. Control Panel All work mode and status settings are made or displayed on the front panel. 3. MV-8 Setup The control panel has six buttons: • Four navigation buttons (up, down, left, right), for navigating the menu options. • - returns you to the previous level of the menu (if a menu item is selected) or functions as a Cancel button (if an item is selected). • - selects a lower menu level (if a menu is selected) or functions as an OK button (if an item is selected). Settings To cycle through the menu options in the LCD: ■ Press , until the required option is displayed. Standard Video standard. Genlock Genlock type; digital, analog bi-level, and analog tri-level Format Work mode; mode (see Layout on page 5), and mapping (where to display each input, see Mapping Input to Video Window on page 6). Overlay On-screen display; separators (show or hide input separators between video windows), input titles (show or hide titles for inputs), set titles (set each input title). Status Status; display reference signal status, and input signal status (sync and lock). MV-8 Setup 1 6 4x1/2 1x1 1 2 3 4 1 To select a layout: 1. In the Mode menu, use the right/left navigation buttons to cycle through the options. 2. When the required option is displayed, press Control Panel | to set it. 5 Mapping Input to Video Window You can define what input is displayed in which video window. To map output to layout: 1. In the Mapping menu, use the up/down navigation buttons to set what output is mapped to each video window. For example; 1 >1 means IN1 goes to video window 1. 2. When the mappings are displayed as required, press . Setting Titles You can set a title to appear in each video window, with up to four characters. This title is set until you change it, and is assigned to the input/output, not to the video window. (If you assign the input to a different video window, the title is reassigned as well). To set title text: 1. In the Overlay menu, use the left/right navigation buttons to cycle through the Input names. 3. MV-8 Setup 2. Press 6 to select the input. 3. Use the up/down navigation buttons to cycle through the alpha-numeric options. Use the left/right navigation buttons to move between character spaces. 4.
