KONKA in conjunction with Crowd Creators Presents: Coach a Winning Team in 180 Minutes. 15 – 17 February 2012 The CWT180 sports coaching conference will improve your coaching skills. Aimed at school sport co-ordinators and coaches, the CWT180 conference will be a hands-on learning experience focussing on Rugby and Netball coaching skills and development. The conference will be hosted by Konka. This exceptional recreational facility is located just outside Magaliesburg. Konka is famous for hosting the rugby reality program Tussen die Lyne as well as various other Rugby and Netball Tournaments. The guest speakers will talk about various subjects including, motivation, team-building, nutrition and vision development. Coaching Clinics will take place on the field where experienced players, coaches and referees will share their expertise. Networking will take place in the evenings around the braai area under the Magaliesberg skyline. CWT180 2012 Speakers & Coaches Hugh Bladen - Master of Ceremonies Hugh Bladen is a former provincial rugby player and rugby administrator. He is best known as a rugby commentator and has commented on over a 150 test matches. Since 1992 Hugh has toured with the Springboks to France, New Zealand, Australia, England, Argentina, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Italy. Tim Goodenough - Mental Coach Tim is a Professional Certified Meta-Coach (PCMC) and holds a trainers qualification in both NLP and Neuro-Semantics. Tim was the full time mental coach for The Sharks during their 2008 Super 14 campaign. Tim lectures on mental toughness at The Sharks Academy and the Investec International Rugby Academy as well as for Cricket South Africa. In 2009 Tim and other coaches co-authored “Artists at work: Team Coaching” (2009: Penguin), a collection of strategies and models for working as a team coach in different environments. Tim’s new book, “Raising Talent” which is focused on the talent development process and how to accelerate it, will be released later this year. Dr Elsje Jordaan - Netball Expert Dr Elsje Jordaan (PhD in sports science) was the Captain of the PROTEA NETBALL TEAM for 13 internationals and led her team during the World Cup held in 2003. She played in 88 internationals for South Africa and represented South Africa in 48 tests. Elsje was involved in the speed and agility coaching programme of the Rugby Springboks in 2006 as well as the first rugby team of the University of Johannesburg in 2007. She is currently the coach of the Starlight Jets and is the coach of the 1st netball team of the University of Johannesburg, 2011. She was awarded her PhD in sports science by the University of Pretoria in 2007. She is also head of the new professional Netball Circuit – NGS (Netball Grand Series). Ian Macdonald - Springbok Loose Forward & Experienced Coach Ian Macdonald played 25 games for the Springboks as a loose forward. He is an experienced coach and has coached the RAU First XI, the Lions and the Falcons. He is also involved as a coach with the Investec International Rugby Academy and the reality program “Tussen die Lyne” that aired on KyKnet. Maryke Bronkhorst - Nutrition Expert Maryke has a B-Dietetics degree (University of Pretoria) and is currently busy with her Masters in Nutrition at the University of Stellenbosch. She has presented many educational sessions locally as well as internationally on topics such as Healthy Eating, Sports Nutrition and ADHD. She is currently the consulting dietician for the High Performance Sports Institute at the University of Johannesburg. Werner Swanepoel - Former Springbok Scrum-Half Werner played 20 games for the Springboks as scrum-half. He has also played European Club Rugby. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge with other coaches and players. Minette Dempsey - Leadership Development Expert Minette Dempsey is a motivational speaker currently finishing her PhD in Leadership. She has helped employees in management positions at Anglo Gold and Standard Bank with leadership development. Mark Lawrence - IRB International Rugby Referee Mark is one of the world’s best known rugby referees. He was a Rugby World Cup official in 2003 and 2007. He was the referee for the Currie Cup final in 2007 and the Super 14 final in 2008. He is also a member of the IRB International Referee Panel. Darryl Weir - International Sevens Expert and Coach Darryl has completed his IRB level 2 coaching- and referee courses as well as the IRB ‘Train the Trainers’ course. He is the Head of Rugby at the Arabian Gulf Rugby Football Union and coaches the national men’s 7s and 15s teams. He is also the head coach of the Invitational Atlantic 7s team that has won 2 tournaments in Dubai, one in Windhoek and one in South Africa. David Phillips – SportsEye.
