Newsletter One January 2015 Newsletter Date Volume 1, Issue 1 The Resource Network Newsletter Success Story: Kai Miller By – Nikki Woods and Kimberly Jackson The client relocated to Michigan from Atlanta, GA. Finding employment as well as affordable housing was a huge challenge for the Miller Family. The family was homeless for a short period of time in addition to not having a reliable form of transportation. These challenges seemed insurmountable in the face of also needing to find employment. Having 2 children that were not school age also added stress as a local day care provider that has space was difficult to find. They were looking for a Check Approval Analyst and Kai’s work experience while residing in Georgia was a perfect match. Kai is now employed full time with Chase Bank as an analyst and her salary allows her to work only one job. Kai had many challenges but through it all she has learned that being prepared is key. She is keenly aware that not being prepared only creates other problems. Kai has expressed that she is extremely thankful for team at The Resource Network. She has personally thanked me on many occasions for the support she received. Jacket for Jobs Kai was diligent in her efforts to find employment. After participating in an on-site interview with Sears, Kai was hired. Kai realized that although Sears was an opportunity, the wage and hours wouldn’t be enough to support her family. Kai then took on a second job with Tim Horton’s. Her shift began at 4am. Her financial situation improved with the increase in hours but the time spent away from home began to cause problems. Kai continued to seek out full time employment. After a few months of working two jobs she was contacted by Chase Bank.
