Frontline General Land, Air, & Sea World War II Tabletop Simulation ™ Frontline General Italian Campaign Introduction Print & Play Version Printing Tips Recommended Printer Type An Inkjet Printer or Laser Printer with CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) ink cartridges / toner is recommended for maximum color consistency. For two-sided Card printing, the printer should be duplex-print capable and have a tight tolerance on registration between each side. The printer should be capable of printing on photo paper, heavyweight stock, and transparency paper. The maximum media size for this version is 8-1/2”x11”. Recommended Media Media recomendations vary depending on the components to be printed. Table 1 lists each component required for the Print & Play version along with recommended media, quantity required, and whether the item is intended to be printed as a one- or two-sided page. Trimming Components It is recommended that Print & Play players invest in a low-cost rotary trimmer. These may be found at various craft stores or office stores for under $20 USD. Rotary trimmers make it much easier when it is time to trim the printed components. Frontline General Italian Campaign Introduction Backing the Unit Markers Storage Unit Markers are the pieces in the game. Depending on how the Markers are printed, Backing Media may be used to stiffen the Markers. A sheet of Black 8-1/2x11 PeelN-Stick Felt works well as a backing media prior to trimming. Simply print the Unit Markers on Photo Paper, then peel and stick the felt onto the Unit Marker Sheets, and trim the pieces out. Alternatives include self-adhesive Photo Mount Boards such as Crescent’s “Perfect Mount” products. These are available online and at Photography and Craft stores. Simply position the printed Unit Marker Sheet on the board, reposition as required, and set the adhesive with firm pressure. For storage and sorting of small items, we recommend fishing tackle boxes. The compartments are perfect for sorting all of the Unit Markers and Counters. Additional Needs To play the Print & Play version of FG:ICI, you’ll need to add a minimum of two twenty-sided dice, two ten-sided dice, and several six-sided dice. We also recommend standard soft card sleeves for protection of all of the Unit Cards, Event Cards, and Command Cards. You will need 495 of these sleeves to protect all of the cards. Printing Two-Sided Cards on a Non-Duplex For optional Tactical Scale Miniatures play, you’ll need a Printer tape measure (6’ or longer recommended). We also recommend terrain and scenics, 15mm miniatures, and flight Unit Markers are two-sided. If you do not have a printer stands for aircraft. capable of duplex printing, try printing a Unit Card Sheet, flipping the sheet over along the “short” (8-1/2”) edge, and then print the sheet again. If the card edges line up well enough, you can print the cards in this way. Otherwise, you may print the cards single-sided, trim, and fold them. I v.Beta. Copyright © 2008 Collins Epic Wargames.
