Calling all kids! It’s the annual Reindeer Run & Romp and Holiday Scavenger

and hunt for kids and families are the final events of the 2014 Canal Street: Home
for the Holidays celebration presented by the DDD & Roosevelt New Orleans.
Preregistration available online now through Thursday, December 11 at Noon.
Click here. Registration is also available the day of the event starting at 8am.
The run begins at 9am.
The route is simple—runners will begin at the Riverwalk Spanish Plaza, race ½
mile up Canal Street, U-turn just a few paces past Bourbon Street, and race
back to the finish line at Riverwalk Spanish Plaza. A ½ mile “Egg Nog Jog” will
take place before the Reindeer Run and will follow the same route with a
turnaround at Decatur Street.
Rudolph, Santa and friends will jingle their bells to signal the start of the race.
Participants will receive antlers, a holiday- race t-shirt and a bag of holiday
goodies. After the race, participants are encouraged to stay at Spanish Plaza for
the “Romp” – where they’ll enjoy healthy activities like yoga for kids & parents,
music, games, crafts and more.
The holiday scavenger hunt will begin at the Romp and lead participants to
festively-decorated Downtown stores, hotels and restaurants where they will
gather clues and collect prizes. The grand prize includes a stay at The Roosevelt
New Orleans and more.
