Tarleton State University Parking Services Office Commonly Asked Questions 1. What do I do if I forgot my permit and have an 8:00 am class? Park in your designated parking area. Go to class. As soon as you have a break, go to the Parking Services office and explain. We will verify your class schedule and issue you a temporary permit for that day. 2. I have my leg in a cast. May I obtain a temporary disability access permit? Obtain a letter from your doctor stating that you need special parking and the dates needed. Take this letter to the Parking Services office for a temporary handicap permit. 3. What if my parking permit is lost or stolen? You will need to purchase a replacement permit for $10. You should report a lost or stolen permit immediately so that you will not be held responsible for any violations on that permit. 4. My car is parked illegally because of a mechanical malfunction. What do I do? Call the Parking Services office immediately at (254) 968-9001 and follow their instructions. After business hours, leave a detailed message. 5. I have to park in a distant lot and am afraid to walk to my residence hall at night. What do I do? We urge you not to walk around campus by yourself after dark. TARLETON POLICE COMMON FINES Parking without a valid permit 6. A late penalty of $10 will be assessed for each ticket that has not been taken care of within this time frame. 2. Payment shall be by check, credit card, or Texan Bucks. Parking Services is not responsible for a ticket being removed from a vehicle after it has been placed on the vehicle by a parking enforcement staff member. 4. Overdue citations may subject the permit holder’s vehicle(s) to impoundment as well as suspension of the parking permit(s). All fines must be paid before the vehicle is released. Payment plans are not available. 5. If you wish to appeal a citation, you must do so through the online appeal process found on the Parking Services website, www.tarleton.edu/ parking . Upon review, you will receive a written decision via email. If you are not satisfied with the decision, you may request a hearing before the Parking Appeals Committee by calling (254) 968-9001 within five working days of the date the initial decision was rendered. Tickets must be paid before appeal can be filed. How do I get my permit? Order your permit at www.tarleton.edu/parking .
