Cast Steel - INNSE Cilindri

Cast Steel
AT, GAT, GANT, ASN, APN, ADSN, APNK, CAT, CANT
Applications
AT rolls are used mainly in case of particularly severe
mechanical stresses like in the roughing stands of
section mills.
GAT, GANT rolls are used in roughing, intermediate
and finishing stands, especially for structural mills. GAT
rolls can be used also in the finishing section mill, whilst
GANT rolls are employed where high resistance to
thermal stresses is required (i.e. blooming mill, roughing
mills and finishing mills for heavy sections).
CAT and CANT, manufactured by centrifugal casting,
are used in the rolling of shaped products as rollers
and sleeves for universal stands. These grades can be
manufactured monobloc or with core in graphitic steel.
ASN rolls are used as work rolls for hot strip roughing
mills.
ADSN rolls are used as work rolls for roughing and the
first finishing stands of hot strip mills.
APN and APNK rolls are used as back-up rolls for hot
strip roughing and finishing mills, for cold strip mills and
for plate mills.

Characteristics
AT range covers rolls with different amount of Cr-Mo elements. GAT (CAT) series has a greater amount of carbon. The level of
carbon content establishes the carbides fraction and the type of the matrix that can moves from ferritic to pearlitic. GANT (CANT)
rolls are similar to the GAT (CAT) grades but with the presence of graphite. ASN and APN series are eutectoid steel rolls with a
good presence of Cr-Mo elements. They are characterized by a fine and prevalently pearlitic matrix where spheroidal carbides
are evenly distributed. ADSN series (ADAMITE) are hypereutectoid Cr-Mo alloyed steel rolls characterized by a pearlitic/bainitic
matrix whit fine spheroidal carbides uniformly distributed inside. APNK series are hypoeutectoid Cr-Mo alloyed steel rolls with
high chromium content. They are characterized by a tempered bainitic/maertensitic structure.
