Hello All,
It is nice to see the winter thawing out and the spring coming into bloom. While we enjoyed the snow,
we also had many exciting happenings at our facility. We are pleased to announce that CMS has given us a !
five star rating! This star rating is based on state surveys, quality measures and staffing. Thank you all for
your participation in reaching this goal. We also were able to contain the flu to minimally affect our
residents through vigorous precautions. We appreciate your understanding during this time and thank you
for washing your hands and not visiting while you are feeling ill.
Our staff has been actively volunteering in the community through the We Care events. Please let us
know if you know of any ways we can help within our community.
Lastly, I would like to wish Michaelene Wiesman a happy retirement! She has touched our lives in
many ways and has shown her compassionate care of others not only with our residents, but with staff and
visitors as well. We wish her many happy, carefree days! HAPPY SPRING!

Dental & Vision Insurance
Proper oral and vision health can improve the quality of life of
long term care residents. Shippensburg Health Care Center is
now offering dental & vision services through Citizens
Security Dental & Vision Insurance. This service is available
to our residents at no additional charge to the family as
premiums are generated from the resident’s current care costs.
Basic examinations & services are conveniently provided
onsite. If you or your loved one are interested in taking
advantage of this new program please see our Business Office
Manager for additional information or assistance.

Tribute to a Housekeeper

There is a place in Heaven’s home spectacular to see,
In honor of your daily role, where angels go to be,
And in this place a tribute hangs of gold and marble lace,
Of golden stars that dangle high reflecting Heaven’s grace.
Upon each star a name appears of each housekeeper on earth today,
The risk of slips and falls run high, with chemicals that harm,
