Proposed Field Trip
Dear parents and caregivers,
Our topic focus for Term 2 is Our Local Community and Flight. This is going to be a fun filled,
activity based unit combining social studies, science and physics. We are going to be looking at
the science and physics behind flight, as well as how flight has affected our local community.
On Tuesday June 14th, Rooms 2 and 3 will be enhancing their Community and Flight Unit with a
trip to the Waikato Aero Club, Helicorp, a guided tour through the Hamilton International Airport tower, and a visit to the Airport Fire and Rescue headquarters. This trip will give the students a closer look at what we have been learning in class, as well as a chance to ask the professionals higher order questions about flight, our community and the aviation industry.
Parents, please sign the student permission slip and return to School. To make this a successful
trip, we are looking for parent/caregiver volunteers to join us and help with transport and supervision. If you are interested, please fill out the parent supervision slip below and return to
school.
