2015 Electronics Recycling Guide
Pennsylvania’s Covered Device Recycling Act states that effective in January, 2013, landfills
may no longer accept electronics. These items must be recycled. Items included in this
disposal ban are televisions, computers (including monitors, keyboards, mice, printers), and
cell phones. This guide was developed to assist the public with finding responsible ways to
recycle their electronics.
Recycling Centers:
1. ECS&R: Evans City, Butler County. ECS&R is a certified hazardous waste contractor.
Hours:
Scheduled Saturdays throughout the year. Pre-registration is required.
Accepts: All electronics and household hazardous wastes and chemicals.
Notes:
Fees apply. Call the toll free number, 866-815-0016 to register.
2. ECS&R: 3237 US Highway 19, Cochranton, PA 16314, Crawford County.
Hours:
Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM.
Accepts: All electronics and household hazardous wastes and chemicals.

3. BEAVER COUNTY RECYCLING CENTER: Brady’s Run Park, Beaver County.
Hours:
Tuesday & Thursday from 9:00 AM- 4:00 PM.
First and third Saturday of the month from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
Accepts: Electronics including televisions, computers, monitors, VCR’s and printers.
Batteries, polystyrene (Styrofoam), antifreeze, used oil, & fluorescent lights.

4. ECYCLING RECYCLING: 11490 Perry Highway, Route 19, Wexford, PA.
An eLoop LLC recycling partner.
Hours:
Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM- 4:30 PM. Saturday 9 AM- 12 PM.
Accepts: Electronics including televisions, computers, monitors, VCR’s, appliances.
Notes:
Donations accepted. Fees apply for Freon-containing appliances.

5. CONSTRUCTION JUNCTION : 214 North Lexington Street, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County.
An eLoop LLC recycling partner.
Hours:
Monday – Friday 9AM – 6 PM. Saturday 9AM – 5 PM. Sunday 10AM – 5 PM.
Accepts: TV’s, computers and monitors, miscellaneous electronics, household
appliances, batteries, ballast and lamps. Fees apply for Freon-containing
appliances.
Notes:
Maximum of four (4) TV’s and/or monitors per drop-off. No broken or
cracked glass or plastic. Residential customers only. 412-243-5025

6. ELOOP LLC: 625 Plum Industrial Court, Pittsburgh, PA 15239.
Hours:
Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
Accepts: TV’s, computers and monitors, miscellaneous electronics, household
appliances, batteries, ballast and lamps. Fees apply for some materials
and any small appliance containing Freon.

Municipal Programs:
1. Residents of Greenville Borough, Jamestown Borough, and the City of Sharon:
Contact the Waste Management Call Center at 1-800-449-7587 to set up a collection
appointment for electronics and household hazardous waste (some limitations apply).
The “At Your Door Special Collection” is a residential service offered by WM to provide
year-round household hazardous waste collections for their customers.
2. City of Farrell: Residents of Farrell may contact the City’s Street Department at 724983-2707 to make arrangements for the curbside pick-up of electronics.
3. City of Hermitage: Effective AUGUST 1, 2014, residents of Hermitage may now take
their electronics to the City Garage, located on Virginia Road. Collections will be held
weekly, year-round on Fridays from 7am – 12 noon. Please call ahead to schedule your
drop-off, (724) 342-0210.

Retail Drop-off Locations:
1. Best Buy: Retail stores will take three items per day per customer. Retail stores are
located:
 Boardman (The Shops East), Ohio (330-758-6430)
 Niles (Near Eastwood Mall), Ohio (330-544-1487)
 Monaca (Near the Beaver Valley Mall), Beaver County (724-728-3816)
 Cranberry Township, Butler County (724-778-8300)
Accepts: Nearly anything electronic (no matter where purchased) including tube TV’s
& monitors up to 32”, flat panel TV’s & monitors up to 60”,cell phones, DVD players,
satellite receivers, game consoles, tablets, etc. No large or small kitchen appliances,
microwaves, or console TV’s. Notes: Best Buy Mobile stores are located inside the
Southern Park Mall in Boardman, OH and the Eastwood Mall in Niles, Ohio (330-5059135). These smaller stores may NOT accept larger electronics. Call the store directly to
see what is accepted.
2. Goodwill: Hermitage (724-346-4456) and New Castle (724-652-4877).
Accepts: Computer hard drives, laptops, and other computer accessories. NO CRT
(cathode ray tube) computer monitors or televisions. Only flat screen TV’s in working
condition. Printers, scanners, fax machines, microwaves, and other small electronics
are also accepted.
3. Salvation Army:
New Castle (724-658-9331)
Accepts the following items in working condition only: TV’s that are cable ready,
computers, microwaves, VCR players, and any small electronic that plugs in.
Greenville (724-588-5190)
Accepts the following items in working condition only: TV’s except consoles,
computers, microwaves, VCR players, and any small electronic that plugs in.
Grove City (724-458-9840)
Accepts the following items in working condition only: TV’s that are 10 years old or less,
VCR, microwaves, other small electronics. NO computers of any kind including laptops,
tablets, kindles, monitors, etc.
4. Staples: Hermitage (724-342-0439) or New Castle (724-654-2099).
Accepts: Computers and CRT monitors, laptops, printers, copiers, scanners, shredders,
cameras, phones, rechargeable batteries and printer cartridges. Will accept most
items they sell in stores for recycling. Up to six (6) items per day. No TV’s accepted.

5. LARK Enterprises: A nonprofit organization in New Castle, 724-656-9339.
Accepts: Laptop computers, I-pods, tablets, cell phones, and printer cartridges.
Notes: Accepts materials at their facility on Ellwood Road.
6. Radio Shack: New Castle (724-654-7709).
Accepts: laptops, tablets, GPS devices, cameras, game consoles, cell phones and
rechargeable batteries.
Mail-Back Programs:
1. Mail-back programs allow consumers get rid of their electronics with a prepaid shipping
label. Walmart, Sams Club, Staples, and Waste Management (to just name a few) offer
mail-back programs for consumers.
2. Most computer companies that sell these items offer a take-back program. If you are
purchasing a new computer, check with the company when purchasing to see if they
will accept your old computer through a mail-back or similar program.
Miscellaneous Items:
1. The Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County accepts cell phones.
2. A public recycling drop-off station is located inside of the Lawrence County AND
Mercer County Courthouses. Items accepted include the following:
o Batteries (all kinds except lead acid)
o Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs (CFL’s)
o Fluorescent tubes (less than 4 foot)
o CD’s, DVD’s, VHS tapes, floppy discs
o Shoes (pairs only, no holes)
o Cell phones
o Printer Cartridges
o Christmas lights (September-January)
