Barbarian:Pathofthe
AncestralGuardian
Somebarbarianshailfromculturesthatrevere
theirancestors.Thesetribesteachthatthe
warriorsofthepastlingerintheworldasmighty
spirits,whocanguideandprotecttheliving.
Whenabarbarianwhofollowsthispathrages,
thebarbariancontactsthespiritworldandcalls
ontheseguardianspiritsforaidinatimeof
need.
Barbarianswhodrawontheirancestral
guardianscanbetterfighttoprotecttheirtribes
andtheirallies.Inordertocementtiestotheir
ancestralguardians,barbarianswhofollowthis
pathcoverthemselvesinelaboratetattoosthat
celebratetheirancestors’deeds.Thesetattoos
tellsagasofvictoriesagainstterriblemonsters

rage.Thesewarriorsdistractafoeyoustrikeand
hinderitsattemptstoharmyourcompanions.
Whileyou’reraging,thefirstcreatureyouhit
withanattackonyourturnbecomesthetarget
ofthewarriors.Untilthestartofyournextturn
oruntilyourrageends,thattargethas
disadvantageonanyattackrollthatdoesn’t
targetyou,andcreaturesotherthanyouhave
resistancetothedamageofthetarget’sattacks.
SpiritShield
Beginningat6thlevel,theguardianspiritsthat
aidyoucanprovidesupernaturalprotectionfor
yourallies.Ifyouareragingandacreatureyou
canseewithin30feetofyoutakesdamage,you
canuseyourreactiontoreducethatdamageby
2d8.
Whenyoureachcertainlevelsinthisclass,you
canreducethedamagebymore:by3d8at10th
levelandby4d8at14thlevel.
ConsulttheSpirits
At10thlevel,yougaintheabilitytoconsultwith
yourancestralspiritsandusethemtoscoutfaroffareas.Whenyoudoso,youcastthe
clairvoyancespell,withoutneedingaspellslot.
Ratherthancreatingasphericalsensor,thespell
invisiblysummonsoneofyourancestralspirits
tothechosenlocation.Wisdomisyour
spellcastingabilityforthespell.

At14thlevel,yourancestralspiritsgrow
powerfulenoughtostrikefoesthatdaretoharm
thoseyouprotect.WhenyouuseyourSpirit
Shieldtoprotectacreaturedamagedbyan
attack,theattackertakesthesameamountof
damagethatyourSpiritShieldprevents.
Bard:CollegeofSwords
BardsoftheCollegeofSwordsarecalledblades,
andtheyentertainthroughdaringfeatsof
weaponprowess.Bladesperformstuntssuchas
swordswallowing,knifethrowingandjuggling,
andmockcombats.Thoughtheyusetheir

weaponstoentertain,theyarealsohighly
trainedandskilledwarriorsintheirownright.
Theirtalentwithweaponsinspiresmany
bladestoleaddoublelives.Oneblademightuse
acircustroupeascoverfornefariousdeedssuch
asassassination,robbery,andblackmail.Other
bladesstrikeatthewicked,bringingjusticeto
bearagainstthecruelandpowerful.Most
troupesarehappytoacceptablade’stalentfor
theexcitementitaddstoaperformance,butfew
entertainersfullytrustthem.
Bladeswhoabandonlivesasentertainershave
oftenrunintotroublethatmakesmaintaining
theirsecretactivitiesimpossible.Abladecaught
stealingorengaginginvigilantejusticeistoo
greataliabilityformosttroupes.Withtheir
weaponskillsandmagic,thesebladeseither
takeupworkasenforcersforthieves’guildsor
