League Format
Teams will play eight matches in this league. At the end of league play, final standings for the
league will be determined and prizes will be awarded for the first and second place team based
on their overall record.
Match Format
Each game will be played to 11 points, with a maximum of 3 games being played in any match.
Match times are allotted 90 minutes but if teams need to go over that timeframe, that is just
fine as long as both teams agree. In order for the final game of a match to be considered an
“official game,” a team must score at least 9 points. For example, if the score is 3 to 2 at the
end of your match, it is not considered an “official game.” If the score was 9 to 7 at the end of
your match then it would be considered an “official game.” Even if a team wins the first two
games a third game will be played.
Scoring Process Example
Your team plays 3 games and the game scores are 11 to 9, 8 to 11 and 9 to 5. Your team would
then pick up 2 wins and 1 loss for the match.
After each night of play the winning team is responsible for reporting their scores to
[email protected] as a backup. Standings will be updated weekly on the City
website: www.edenprairie.org/bocce.
Equipment
Teams must supply their own bocce equipment.
League Champion Prizes
Gift certificates to the Eden Prairie Adult Athletics sponsor restaurants will be awarded for the
league as follows.
1st:
$50.00 gift certificate
2nd:
$25.00 gift certificate
Please try not to forfeit a match at any time throughout the season, out of respect for the other
teams in the league. We realize things come up throughout the summer but please try to
provide a league match for your opponent each and every week.
