MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
s
IEP MEETINGS:
These meetings will occur later on this month and your teachers will be
in contact with you to make appointments for you to meet with your
child’s team. Please refer to the General School Policy on the d6 for
more information. We apologise in advance that therapy will be
interrupted during this time.
SOCIAL MEDIA
I would like to draw your attention to our d6 (Resources, General)
where we have information on bullying and a list of control apps.
GENERAL
PTA
We once again request the donation of second hand sports equipment –
cricket pads, bats, kit bags etc to supplement our stock. Please could
items that are in good condition be sent to the office.
Uniform Shop
The 2nd Hand Uniform Shop is operative and any good quality, outgrown
uniforms would be greatly appreciated.
Crossroads Carnival
We are starting the planning for our first event, the very popular annual
CROSSROADS CARNIVAL, which takes place on Thursday 30th March.
This is an amazing occasion and is well known to the Crossroads
community; many old pupils return every year for this unforgettable
event. The day promises to be filled with lots of fun for the whole
family, so please diarise this event. The PTA will send out more
information closer to the time.
PLAY DATES
It is a School rule that children may only make play- and home-time
arrangements with friends prior to coming to school. It can cause
confusion with lifts if play-dates are made on the day, and can also
present a possible security problem. Should there be an emergency and
these arrangements have to be made on the day, it is important to
SPORT
Due to rainy weather,
unfortunately both the
SWIMMING GALA
inform both the class teacher and the office to alleviate unnecessary
concern. Children are not allowed to phone home to request a change in
arrangements. We would appreciate the support of parents in this
matter.
LIFT REQUIRED
If anyone can assist with a morning lift from the Morningside area
(Arum Avenue), please contact Mrs Matheson on 0813789674
and the
CRICKET MATCH
scheduled for last week had to
be cancelled.
We wish our swimmers and
players better weather this
week!
Valentine’s day
As part of our Outreach programme
children may wear RED or PINK on
Tuesday 14th February and they are
requested to bring a wrapped slab
of chocolate to school. The
chocolates will be distributed to the homeless and
the aged.
Please support our Outreach – this is such a treat for these
unfortunate people.
NEWS OF A FORMER LEARNER – Angelica Viveiros
“Angelica did incredibly well last year. She received a full attendance
certificate, a certificate for drastic improvement in NS and Technology and
she missed a silver certificate in LO by 1%. At the end of the year, she
had passed all her subjects and was promoted to grade 7.
This year has started with a bit of a bang. She has been promoted to
becoming the head of choir. She is creating war cries for her gala and has
made some beautiful posters for the Valentine's Ball. Her work is neater and
homework is done without a fuss. She has also started training for the drum
corps of the Jeppe Band and is displaying some lovely talent.”
