ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE
Chloe Di Gemma (Year 8)
Our nine muses
There are nine new ladies gracing
the exterior wall of our Art building.
They are muses and were created by
well-known artist Pamela Irving
during her residency at the School.
When approached by the Lauriston Arts Association
(LAA) to be part of the Art program, Pamela wanted
to make a piece that represented women and education
as well as say something about herself and her work.
‘I decided to create a whimsical version of the nine
muses of Greek mythology. These deities or goddesses
inspired literature, science and arts so will serve as great
role models for the girls of Lauriston,’ says Pamela
