Café...
Contact: Yolanda Valadez
The fastest and easiest way to apply for the federal meals program is to apply online. Go to:
https://mealapp.tusd1.org. If you do not have internet access, you may ask the front office for a
Federal Meals Application as soon as possible, as this method could take up to 30 days to process.
Please make sure your student has lunch money on his account. The cafeteria accepts advance pay at any time. Effective immediately, PB&J will be given to students who have a negative balance on their account. Your child can enjoy breakfast as early as 7:15 AM to 7:40 AM.
Please allow plenty of time to eat breakfast so your child is not tardy to class.
Breakfast: $1.25
Free/Reduced: $.25
Lunch:
$2.20
Free/Reduced: $.40
Please remind your student that if they bring their lunch from home and want a milk to go with
lunch, they still need to wait in line to pay for the milk. We have a lot of milk walk away without
being paid for and it must be tracked by Food Services. Unfortunately, the cafeteria is not allowed to give the students “seconds”. Please talk to your student about this as soon as possible.

Blessings in a Backpack…

Hard to believe that Thanksgiving is past, and we are deep into the Christmas
season. I am sure that the children are very excited, and Blessings in a Backpack is getting ready too. We will add extra to the bags for the Christmas
break, and wish everyone at Bloom Elementary School a wonderful and wondrous holiday.
Blessings!

Health Office News...

December is the season of giving, however, not all things should be shared. If your little one is ill please keep
them at home until they are well enough to be back in school. That means that your student is free of fever,
vomiting and diarrhea for a full 24 hours before returning to school and that’s without the help of medications. Colds, sore throats, and coughs are the most frequent problem to parents. Heavy chest congestion,
runny nose with greenish colored mucus, or a sore throat with white spots are good reasons to stay home and
call your doctor. Let’s take care of each other as well as ourselves. Remember, some things in this “season of
giving” are better kept at home. Live well and be well. Have a safe and happy holiday.
Lost & Found...
Our Lost & Found is now located in the hallway that leads out to the parking lot. Please make
sure you retrieve your lost items. On the last Friday of each month, all items are donated.
Site Council News...
Our next Site Council Meeting will be December 13th @ 3:15 pm. If you are interested in being
involved in Site Council, please contact the school as soon as possible for details. Click here
for a link to the latest minutes from previous meetings. Check the website for dates and times.

Why Girl Scouts? Girl Scouts helps girls succeed academically, as well
as also helping them build critical social and emotional skills that
result in more confidence, more resiliency, and more overall success.
It’s more than just cookies, it’s about building girls of courage, confidence, and character!
How can you and your girl get involved? We have many troops currently accepting girls and areas looking for wonderful mentors to start
their own troop! We provide all the resources needed to launch a
troop and are with our volunteers every step of the way.
