Math Contest:
A huge congratulations to all Grade 6, 7, and 8 students that participated in the Canadian National
Mathematics League Contest yesterday! We had 32 students participate in total and an excellent
showing of mathematic ability! The top finishers at the Grade 8 Level were Rafael E, Will Z, Justin S,
Liam T, and James M. The top finishers at the Grade 7 Level were Macy H, Kate B, Leticia H, Marley E,
and Serena Z. The top finishers at the Grade 6 level were Christian S, Nicholas P, Bill D, and Anika K..

Adel Trainers: The Adel Trainers will be meeting in the Drama Room after morning recess. Bring your
lunch, see you there.
Vocale Ensemble:
There is a Vocal Ensemble Rehearsal today at 1:16 in the Band room.
Science Challengers:
Today is your last chance to join a Science Challengers team. If you enjoy science and are willing to
compete for ROMS at a city-wide event, please visit room 130 at lunch recess today.
Year Books:
Keep those embarrassing Grade 8 Baby Photos coming! Only thirteen school days left to submit your

Grade 8's: Just a reminder that Friday March 3, is the deadline for Course Selection forms and the
Sports Institute applications.

Volleyball:
Congratulations to the Grade 6 Girls Volleyball teams. The 'little' Eagles finished strong with the
Jamboree team having ZERO losses for the season while the Competitive team had 6 wins in the season
against grade 7 teams. Well done girls! See you on the courts next year!
Congratulations to all of our grade 6/7 girls teams on their matches last night. All teams did very well
and worked together as a team to win many games. Great job Eagles!!!
Playing today after school here at ROMS, is Ms. Robson's and Mrs. Blaikie's grade 7 girls team.
At FIRST recess today, there will be a mandatory meeting for all grade 8 girls volleyball players in the
gym to discuss transportation to your games today at Bayside and Central. All players must attend.
Finally, a reminder to all volleyball players, that if you have any ROMS jerseys at home to please bring it
back to Mr. Menzies ASAP!! Jerseys are expensive and they are needed by other teams.

1) Today's weather calls for cloudy skies with rain showers and a high of 8 degrees. The forecast tells
us that we will have clouds tomorrow with a high temperature of 8 degrees. Where is spring? 19 more
days and it will officially be spring.
2) Health Fact:
One can of soda contains 10 teaspoons of sugar and the average American adult drinks 500 cans
of soda every year, estimating about 52 pounds of sugar consumed in soft drinks alone.
