Dún Laoghaire Further Education Institute (DFEi) is delighted to announce the release of a charity single in aid of
Irish Guide Dogs. The single will feature the Junior Choir from Rathdown primary school performing the Oscarwinning song “Falling Slowly” from the film Once. It will be available for purchase on iTunes and CD from Tuesday 3rd
March, with all proceeds going directly to Irish Guide Dogs.
The team from DFEi Music recorded the Rathdown Junior Choir in the fantastic auditorium at Rathdown Music
School. The choir were accompanied by Daniel O’Gorman of DFEi Music on guitar, Jude Stamper, teacher at
Rathdown school on piano, Lucy McCabe, a 6th year Rathdown student on cello, and Audrey Trainor on violin. Audrey
is a teacher at DFEi and also teaches music to the students at Rathdown Music School. DFEi Music would like to
extend special thanks to Audrey for her crucial role as link between DFEi and Rathdown, as well as her beautiful
arrangement of the music and her tireless effort rehearsing with the choir and musicians. DFEi Music would also like
to extend special thanks to Patrick Wall for his on-going help with this project.
DFEi Music is the student-run record label of Dún Laoghaire Further Education Institute, formerly Dún Laoghaire
College of Further Education (DCFE). Every year the label releases a compilation album featuring aspiring artists from
a variety of genres.
DFEi Music has already seen considerable success in previous years, reaching a top 4 position in the Irish
compilation charts. This year’s album will be launched on 12th March with a gig in the Grand Social in Dublin.
DFEi Music is also delighted to announce that we will have a stage at Vantastival this year. After the success of the
DFEi Music stage at the festival last year, we have been given the opportunity to set a stage up again, where artists
from the forthcoming album will be given the opportunity to perform. For updates, keep an eye on our Facebook
