A Message from District Governor Dale High
Wow! What happened to this Lions
year? It has evaporated with many things
yet to do. State convention coming up in
middle of May and don’t forget to apply
for Melvin Jones Fellowships by June 1.
District Gov goals should be paid by June
1. Thank You Lions of Distict 14-D for
making this year a year to remember.
Remember as Lions we do the little
things in life and in Lions to show others
that a Life of Service is a life worth living
Being a Lion is not a chore it’s not an obligation
It’s something we look forward to. It is in
giving we receive.
Abe Lincoln said, In the end, it’s not the
years in your life that count, it’s the Life
in your Years
Throughout life people will make you mad
Disrespect you and treat you bad
Let God deal with the things they do
Because hate in your heart will consume you too
Alone we can do so little
Together we can do so much
As a Club, as a District
As a State, and as Lions International
District Governor,
Dale High

Thoughts from the 1st Vice District Governor,
Bill Brown
April was so filled with many activities. Presidents Honor Night was great, and District D convention was so informative. The Necrology was so beautifully done.
We went to Lancaster Lions 94th Charter night. It was an Irish Theme. We loved
that, because my wife and I are Irish!
May is a busy month also:
May 1st Blood drive by Mountville Lions Club 1:00pm-6:30mp at Trinity Reformed
UCC Mountville
May 6th Mountville Lions Club 70th Charter Night
May 13th District 14-D Rock-For-Sight at Oregon Dairy
May 19th-21st State Convention at Seven Springs
Remember to spruce up your club signs along the
highways and streets.
Be proud of Lionism!
Roar Lions Roar!!!
Remember to make time for family and friends.
Wishing you all many blessings and good health always.
Bill Brown, 1VDG
Greetings from the 2nd Vice District Governor,
Gene Hilton
Greetings fellow Lions, May jumps off to a busy
start. The School of Instruction is May 6. Incoming, outgoing and future officers should plan to attend. Get your newer Lions members here also. May 13 is the District fund raiser "Rock for
Sight" at Oregon Dairy. Sponsor a rocker, come
out and rock, buy some roses for Mother's
Day. There will be live music and door prizes. Come out for this worthy cause. The State
Convention is the 18th, 19th and 20th.
Whew,
after all that, I need a vacation.

Centennial Service Challenge Goal
for the Month of May is
"Preserving Lions Spirit".
Preserving Lions Spirit through fellowship, listening,
and trying new ideas. Without fellowships there is not
productive clubs. Listen to others, there maybe great
ideas for membership growth, and great fundraisers
And, be open to new ideas, or old ideas. They may have
not worked in the past, but try again. It may just work out
this time.
ROAR, LIONS, ROAR.
" Chance makes our parents, but choice makes friends"
Quote by : Jacques Delille
Everyday I'm glad I made my choice to be a Lion.
And, met great Lions, Lionesses, and Leo friends.
Of which, I cherish their friendship.
So proud of the clubs in District 14-D

“FAB 4” NEWS & VIEWS
Hello “Fab 4” Lioness Clubs!
Although our Lionistic year is winding down, here in “Fab 4” territory, events are going full force!
The Happenings...
Blue Ball - 22 members, with 3 prospective new members. Welcome to newest Lioness Sandi Wilson!
Their Easter Egg Candy Sale total profits will be announced at their next meeting. Coming up: the Fish
Rodeo (see flyer in this newsletter) and Desserts for Veterans.
Heidelberg – There’s always something happening with these 19 Lebanon County ladies, and this
month is no exception! Mark your calendars now to support their Variety Bingo night, which benefits
their scholarship fund, on Friday, April 28th. They are also looking forward to their Charter Night
celebration to be held on Thursday, May 25th.
Lititz – These 33 members recently held their 17th Annual Fashion Show and once again it was highly
successful! Blind and vision-related causes will share in the profits of approximately $2700! At May’s
Charter Night, they will be celebrating their 35th anniversary milestone! Congratulations Lititz Lioness!!
Millersville - 36 busy members; this very active group assisted the Millersville Lions with their “Theme
Basket” bingo party and has Lion Renaldo Angelini on tap as the guest speaker for their next meeting.
Sadly, they lost a very active and faithful Lioness in Dottie Miley, who passed away on March 27 th.
The News and Views…
Isn't it an exciting time to be a Lioness/Lion?! Think of it!!! We are busy staging our own individual
club's successful fundraisers to serve others and at the same time congratulating fellow members on
their achievements at the Melvin Jones breakfast and President's Honor Night. We just held our
District Convention and are now anticipating a great State Convention as well as the Centennial
International Convention in Chicago. Everywhere you turn there are such wonderful opportunities to
form new friendships while gaining valuable knowledge and unforgettable experiences. And
everywhere you turn there's a Lioness/Lion at your side, ready to help you every step of the way on
your personal journey: Count on it! Just as the Lions count on you and the world counts on the Lions!!!
Keep in mind that the newsletter editor, Anita Gordon, will gladly include your posters and flyers for all
to see and share.
Don't forget to check out our “District 14-D Lioness Clubs” Facebook page, everyone!
Many thanks to the “Fab 4” Lioness Club members for the super work they do each and every month
to help better their own communities. WE SERVE, TOO!
Let's Celebrate 100 years of Lionism!!!

The Greater Lebanon Valley Lions Club is preparing for the Eclipse
that will occur on August 21, 2017! While we will not be in the path
of the total solar eclipse, the sun will be 77% occluded by the moon
in the Harrisburg area. Looking at the sun with the naked eye can
cause permanent damage to the retina but using the correct protection can make direct viewing of the sun safe! The Greater Lebanon
Valley Lions Club will be selling eclipse glasses that will allow you to
safely view the sun for $2 each! If you are interested in purchasing
some, please contact Lion Fred Marotta at [email protected].
