+ TULARE CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT REGULAR BOARD MEETING MINUTES February 9, 2016 A meeting of the Tulare City School District Board of Trustees was called to order at 5:00 p.m. in the District Office Board Room, 600 North Cherry, Tulare, California, by President Phil Plascencia. The meeting was immediately adjourned to a closed session for the purpose of staff reviews. The meeting recessed for a dinner break from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and reconvened to open session at 6:00 p.m. The flag salute was recited. Mr. Plascencia welcomed everyone to the meeting. A motion was made by Mrs. Janes, seconded by Ms. Garcia, to approve the agenda as presented. Ayes: Noes: Henderson, Enriquez, Plascencia, Janes, Garcia None Mrs. Nunes gave a comprehensive powerpoint presentation on the Governor’s proposed budget including the following topics: Overall Budget Proposal State Revenues (including General Fund Revenues) Extension of Proposition 30 California Children’s Education & Health Care Protection Act of 2016 Proposed Facilities Bond Initiative, November 2016 Present Information about Governor’s Proposed Budget Mrs. Nunes also reviewed some of the possible effects on education due to the proposed budget. Mr. Plascencia thanked Mrs. Nunes for her informative report. Mrs. Nunes asked the Board to approve Change Order #5 in the amount of $2,590.00 for the installation of cabinets and countertops at various sites project bid to Countertops by Chet (specifically Maple School). Ms. Garcia made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Janes, to approve Change Order #5 in the amount of $2,590.00 for the installation of cabinets and countertops at various sites as presented (specifically Maple School). Approve Change Order #5 for Installation of Cabinets & Countertops at Various Sites Ayes: Garcia, Janes, Henderson, Plascencia, Enriquez Noes: None The Board was requested by Mrs. Nunes to approve Change Order #2 in the amount of $5,033.00 for the installation of tile at various sites project bid to Visalia Ceramic Tile.
