Derbigum CG Manufactured in SA for SA conditions page 1 of 2 Waterproofing Membranes for Tanking and Buried Work The Derbigum CG (Civils Grade) range of products, has been designed to meet the specific requirements for waterproofing in buried and covered situations. Fields of application Uses The CG range has been designed and developed for waterproofing in situations such as: • Underground Tanking • Retaining Walls • Roof Gardens • Planters • Parking Decks • Under paving or tiles CG2 CG3 & CG4 CG4H CG2 is a non-waterproof membrane that is used as a slipsheet, protection sheet, or separation layer. CG2 may be either bonded or mechanically fixed by means of clout nails and roofing washers. Because of its many attributes, together with its excellent tear resistance CG3 performs as an ideal underlay for Derbigum CG4 or Derbigum SP4 in roofing applications. CG4H has root growth inhibitors added to the APP matrix. Used in horticultural situations. Note: Plant types with non-aggressive, noninvasive root systems to be used. Presentation Features The Derbigum CG range of products comprises of an APPmodified bitumen matrix which has been combined with a composite core of polyester and glass fibre. Thickness Width (± 1%) This composite carrier imparts high tensile strength and dimensional stability. It is centrally located in the sheet’s thickness which results in greater flexibility and ease of torching on either side of the sheet. In the two-layer CG system this assures homogenous bonding, both at laps and to each other. In a tanking or buried situation, the CG System should be specified as a double layer combination, comprising of one layer CG3 and one layer CG4, fully bonded by means of torch fusion, so as to provide your best protection. Depending on the circumstances and limited risk requirements, either Derbigum CG4 or CG3 may be used in a single layer application. Flexibility Die No. C ASTM D624 Derbigum CG was formed over mandrels diameter 100 mm, 50 mm and 20 mm at 0°C. Cracking of the surface occurred over 20 mm mandrel only. www.derbigum.co.za Available from Waterproofing Centres countrywide Cape Town Tel 021 448 7880 Fax 021 448 7897 Gauteng Tel 011 608 0317 Fax 011 608 0347 Durban Tel 031 569 3963 Fax 031 569 1849 Port Elizabeth Tel 041 365 2936 Fax 041 365 6475 Manufacturing Plant Tel 011 868 1028 Fax 011 900 2015 Brackenfell Tel 021 981 8343 East London Tel 043 722 5676 Fax 043 722 5676 George Tel 044 874 3905 Fax 044 874 3907 Nelspruit Tel 013 752 4409 Fax 013 752 6556 Margate Tel 039 312 2764 Fax 039 312 2673 Derbigum CG Manufactured in SA for SA conditions page 2 of 2 Waterproofing Membranes for Tanking and Buried Work Application Cross Section of Derbigum CG • Installation by Approved Derbigum Contractors (ADC’s) countrywide. • Ensure that all surfaces to receive the waterproofing application are in a dry, sound, smooth and even condition, free of voids and protrusions. • Coves or fillets are to be installed at all internal angles. External angles should be rounded or arrised. • Apply Bitumen Primer to concrete and screeded surfaces to receive waterproofing. • Side laps should be a minimum of 100mm for standard application and 150mm for tanking and fully bonded by means of ‘torch-on’ fusion. Safety • Normal hygiene procedures. • Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water or a proprietary hand-cleaner prior to eating or smoking. Storage • • • • • Rolls must be transported in a vertical position. Store upright in a cool, dry place. The floor must be regular and free of sharp objects. Derbigum CG should not be exposed to UV for long periods. Do not double stack, unless properly separated.
