Elementary Education is six years followed by five years of Secondary School divided into two cycles (Premier Cycle for
three years and Deuxième Cycle for two years). Secondary school is followed by “Le Collège” which is an intermediary
education between secondary school and tertiary studies. Collège programs range from two year pre-university to three
year technical programs.

Graduation beyond the completion of Deuxième Cycle can be extended in the following three circumstances if the
student enrolls at the first opportunity after timely completion of the DES (Diplôme d’Etudes Secondaires):

Calculate the cumulative high school GPA by converting line-by-line all final grades listed on the Ministry of Education Relevé de
Notes (or Relevé des apprentissages) for Secondary IV and V (Grade 10 and 11 - second cycle) to US equivalents, then convert
to quality points. Weight each course according to the chart below using the credit assigned on the Relevé de Notes.

For students who have attended CEGEP, calculate their secondary school GPA by converting grades for 10 and 11 as indicated
above. Then, also calculate the CEGEP GPA by converting line-by-line all final grades listed on the Ministry of Education
transcript for College-Level programs to US equivalents, then convert to quality points. Weight each course according to the chart
below using the credit assigned on the Ministry of Education transcript. Combine the quality points and credits from the student’s
“Second Cycle” or Grades 10 and 11 from above with the quality points and credits from College-Level (CEGEP). Divide total
quality points by total credits for the cumulative high school GPA calculation.
