Waukesha animal resource center shares activities, easy ways to support the HAWS cause
WAUKESHA — February 1, 2016 — This February at HAWS, the Humane Animal Welfare Society
of Waukesha County, is all about taking action to be that special “someone” for HAWS and the animals!
On Sunday, February 7th, join HAWS Mobile Adoption Team for a Dog Wash! Come to Petlicious
Dog Bakery & Spa, 2217 Silvernail Road, from 11am-3pm and pamper your pooch...for $20 or less! All
proceeds benefit HAWS – enjoy food, door prizes and plenty of treats!
HAWS’ first ever Rabbit Hopping session is Friday, February 12th from 6-9pm. Think “agility” for

Become a Friend of HAWS: Join the FUNdraising and help with great events like the Have-A-Heart
Bake Sale (February 13th from 9am-3pm) and the Media Sale (February 27th from 9am-2pm) at HAWS.
Join us the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7pm; now planning the Romp ‘N Rally Pet Walk, May 7th!
Willows Gallery, W359N5920 Brown St., Oconomowoc hosts the Artisan Chili Throw Down for
HAWS on Saturday, February 20th from 11am – 4pm. Sample 12+ artisan chilies, meet’n’greet with
adoptables and HAWS’ Mobile Team and listen to tropical jams by the band Flip Flops! The $18 ticket
includes a handmade bowl and chili; for more information call 262-540-4129.
Bring Fido along to a pro-hockey game at the Milwaukee Admirals Dog Day at the Bradley Center,
3pm on Sunday, February 21st. Meet HAWS’ Mobile Team, mascot Lucky and adoptable pets. Call
Brian at the Admirals' office at 414.227.0567 for tickets; mention HAWS for a donation to the shelter!
HAWS’ February calendar also features “Pet”-icures for cats and small animals, a greyhound
meet’n’greet with GPA-WI, “Saturday AM Recess” at Central Bark-Sussex and Puppy Parties every
Sunday. There’s also a special fundraiser with Wimmer Photography! Details and more at
HAWS, a non-profit organization established in 1965, assists 8,000 animals each year and welcomes more than 35,000 human visitors
to our shelter annually. As an open admissions and full service shelter, HAWS assures sanctuary for animals in need while offering
countless educational programs and services to promote responsible pet ownership and prevent animal abuse.
