Goal: Create a timeline using integers to represent dates before and after you were born.
The timeline will include:



3 scientific events relating to cells and heredity
1 event occurring during the Industrial Revolution
2 modern (1995-2012) world events that focus on the theme of “power”

Ms. Harris will be teaching you the research tools necessary for this assignment on Monday, November 26 . Class time will be
available for researching and citing information used for the timeline. The final project will be collected by your homeroom
th
teacher first thing Friday, November 30 .
Expectations:
#1: Attend research training.
#2: Complete research and graphic organizer for science and social studies events. Next, number the events on the graphic
organizer so you can place them in the proper order on your timeline.
#3: Create timeline of events. Science events should be outlined in blue and social studies events outlined in green. (Mrs.
Fulmer will explain how to properly calculate and represent integers on the timeline in class).
#4: Each event will require one expository paragraph detailing the event. *There will be a total of six paragraphs, one per event.
#5: The paragraphs should be in your own words with the proper use of quotations where needed. All material used should be
properly cited using MLA 7 format (this includes images and/or graphics used).
#6: Final timeline product should be proof read, reviewed by a peer, and checked against the rubric before being turned in on

have 7 events total). Your formatting may vary from this as long as you include the necessary information and color code it
properly. Paragraphs will be attached to the timeline along with other materials. The order to turn in items is listed below:
