Scottish Championship Classes 2015 Class Specification 4 stroke motorcycles exceeding 590cc and up to 1300cc, not exceeding 10 years old. Scottish Superbikes Scottish Championship points awarded on straight race result. Scottish Superbike Cup – ‘Clubman’ with KMSC, Formula Melville and Sound of Thunder with MMC. “SACU Cup” class will run within this series for those who consider that they do not have the resource or lap times to contest the Championship. “Cuppers” will run two scores – one towards the Championship and one towards the Cup Series. This is in order to make the Series accessible to all. The top 3 in the Cup will automatically become Superbike only competitors in successive years. Also those attaining Superbike lap times. Red Plate with white numbers will be accepted also. Superstock 600 600cc four cylinder, 675cc three cylinder, 750cc twin cylinder, production based 4 stroke solo machines, clutch start. Must comply with the current MSVR Regulations for the class. Exceptions: (1) no competitor age limit, (2) No controlled tyre, but treaded tyres only (including wets). Scottish Lightweights Red Front Plate, Yellow numbers. SuperTwins Any four-stroke twin cylinder motorcycle originally sold for road use with a water cooled engine of up to 650cc. TT Lightweight rules. Green Front Plate, white numbers. Formula 400 400cc four-strokes and 250cc two-strokes, production based, as per ACU Handbook for Formula Specification. Blue Front Plate, white numbers. Production 250/350 2strokes GP125 125cc two-stroke singles. Black Front Plate, white numbers. Aprilia RRV450GP As per Thundersport GB Technical Regulations. White front Plate, black numbers. Moto3 Four stroke 250cc Sidecars Treaded tyres only, including wets. GP125 and Moto3 allowed to run slick tyres. Formula 1 engine capacity greater than 600cc. and Formula 2 engine capacity 600cc or less. As per 2011 SACU rules for Scottish Championship, up to 1200cc carburetted, 1000cc fuel injected. Scottish Championship is one class, any chassis allowed. Any tyres, including slicks and wets allowed. Numbers – Formula 1 White Plate with black numbers. Formula 2 Red Plate with white numbers. Front Plates – 250cc Green – white numbers; 400cc Blue – white numbers; 500cc Yellow – black numbers; Unlimited White – black numbers. Pre Injection 600 Any carburetted 600cc four stroke, mainly old Supersport 600. White Front Plate, blue numbers. Pre Injection 1200 Any carburetted 1200cc four stroke, exceeding 600cc. White Front Plate, black numbers. Treaded tyres only, including wets. Post Classics Senior & Junior Pre 1988 Bikes. Senior: Air cooled four strokes 601cc to 1300cc. Oil/Water cooled four strokes 501cc to 1300cc. Two strokes 401cc to 750cc both air and water cooled. Front Plate and Numbers – White Background with Black Numbers. Junior: Air cooled four strokes up to 600cc. Oil/Water cooled four strokes up to 500cc. Two strokes up to 400cc both air and water cooled. Front Plate and Numbers – Orange Background with Black Numbers. Any treaded tyre (no cut slicks, rain or wet tyres). Numbers must be clearly visible to the public and officials. New Safety Requirements for 2015 For ALL Motorcycles (Classic bikes exempt if participating in a Classic bike only race) Brake Lever Protection All machines must be equipped with brake lever protection intended to protect the handlebar brake lever from being accidentally activated in the case of a collision with another motorcycle. Rear mounted ‘Red Light’ A functioning red light must be fitted at the rear of the motorcycle to be used in low visibility conditions as instructed by the Clerk of the Course. Lights must comply with the following: must be clearly visible from the rear at least 15o to both left and right sides of machine centre line; mounted on the seat/rear bodywork approximately on the machine centre line; power output/luminosity equivalent 10 – 15W (incandescent) 0.6-1.8W (LED); pulsating lights are NOT permitted. If light is not hard wired to bike, an incandescent light must be used.
