One player draws a picture or design on a grid. She then instructs the other player in copying the picture or design by giving directions in this way: “Start at the intersection of C and 12. Go west on 12 for 3 blocks. Go north on 9 for 1 block.” When one continuous line is finished, the player can say, “Park. Now start at the corner of B and 4, etc.” When all the directions are given, players compare grids. The goal is for the grids to match exactly! Then the other player draws a picture or design and gives the other player directions. Draw a cow on the left side. Draw a tree on the upper right side. Draw flowers along the fence, etc.” When complete, everyone compares their drawings to the original to see how alike and different they are. Copyright © 2013 Notgrass Company. All rights reserved.
