INTERNAL COMBUSTION
ENGINES
2-3 December, London
THE INSTITUTION OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS’ COMBUSTION
ENGINES AND FUELS GROUP IS INVITING PAPERS FOR
ABSTRACTS FOR THIS HUGELY INFLUENTIAL CONFERENCE.
The internal combustion engine is produced in tens of millions per year as the power
unit of choice in transport and other sectors. It continues to meet both requirements
and challenges through continual technology advancement and innovation from the
latest research. In its latest incarnation, downsizing in particular has led to improved
performance and fuel economy benefits.
This conference will provide a forum for IC engine and fuels experts to look closely
at developments in powertrain technology required to meet the demands of the
low carbon economy and global competiton in all sectors of the transportation, offhighway and stationary power industries.
Don’t miss your chance to present your research, ideas and messages to industry
leaders, NGO’s, government figures and decision-makers.
TOPICS TO BE ADDRESSED:
• Compression and spark ignition engines
• IC engines for hybrid powertrains
• Air-path and other technologies achieving performance and fuel economy benefits
• Responses and challenges to low-carbon alternative fuels
• Advances and improvements in combustion and ignition systems
• Pollution reduction strategies
• Techniques for engine control
• Unconventional designs or operating strategies
• Engine heat-recovery systems
• Modified or novel engine cycles
• Experimental and computational techniques
• Engine energy recovery systems
