Ontario is enhancing its driver's licence renewal program to help seniors who are fit to drive renew their licences.
Starting April 21, 2014, drivers aged 80 and over will no longer have to complete a written knowledge test. Instead,
they will
participate in a shorter, simpler renewal program that includes:

a vision test
a driver record review
an improved, in-class group education session
two short, in-class screening exercises
The new screening exercises are simple, non-computerized tasks that help identify drivers who may need further
assessment, such as a road test or medical review. Samples of both exercises are available online.
Enhancements to the senior driver's licence renewal program are supported by the latest scientific research and are
part of the Ontario government's plan to make it easier for people to access important government services, when
and where they need them

What is THS’s Meals on
Wheels program?
This service not only delivers a
hot meal to an individual to meet
their nutritional requirements, but
is delivered by a friendly
volunteer who provides regular
social contact, checking on the
well-being of the client.
Delicious, nutritiously balanced
hot meals are delivered to the
client's home. Meals generally
consist of soup or salad, an
entree, dairy product and
dessert. Meals on Wheels can
be delivered long-term or
short-term, depending of the
needs of the clients.

DID you Know?
There are five major artificial sweeteners, there are many other artificial
sweeteners. All are chemically manufactured molecules- molecules that do
not exist in nature.
Artificial sweeteners are used in one of two ways. 1. They may be used
directly in commercially processed foods. 2. They may be mixed with one
or more starch based sweeteners before sale to consumers. Artificial
sweeteners are so intensely sweet that dextrose or maltodextrin or both,
must be added to dilute their intense sweetness in order to imitate the
sweetness of sugar.
Artificial sweeteners cannot be sold to consumers since only infinitesimally
amounts are required to mimic sugar’s sweet taste.
