Position Summary: Biomatrica is seeking a highly motivated individual to assist our Research & Product Development scientists. The Biotechnology Research Intern will work closely with Senior Scientists and the rest of the scientific team to explore and advance technology development projects. In particular we are interested in finding a highly motivated individual that is committed to quality research, demonstrates an entrepreneurial spirit, communicates well, and is capable and enthusiastic about working as part of a team in biotechnology. This position is an excellent opportunity for an undergraduate or recent college graduate to gain experience in the biotechnology industry. Internship Description: The Biotechnology Research Intern will conduct hands-on experimentation under the guidance of full-time scientists. The intern will help the Research and Product Development team meet timelines to support product development or research projects. This position will allow the intern to gain experience following technical protocols, organizing lab resources and analyzing data. The intern will be given the opportunity to learn to design experiments independently or with 1 Saving Samples, Time & Energy minimal guidance. The intern will also gain experience presenting data and status updates to Biomatrica scientists. Primary Internship Activities: Laboratory experiments to support research or development projects in a collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere Data analysis Data presentation to supervisor or the scientific team Laboratory organization General laboratory maintenance including cleaning and media preparation Minimum Essential Skills and Experience: Currently enrolled in a junior college or four year university, or recently awarded a degree (within the past two years) Seeking an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, biotechnology or other life sciences-related field Comfortable working with biological specimens, including human blood samples Competent in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) Good communication skills Independent and self-motivated learner Team player with excellent interpersonal skills The ability to interact professionally, clearly and kindly with individuals in the company at all times Laboratory experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology or related discipline (applicable course experience can fulfill this requirement) Desired Technical Skills and Abilities: Analyzing and reporting data in a research setting Proper laboratory notebook maintenance If you are looking for an internship with growth potential in an exciting industry, please forward your Cover Letter and Resume to: [email protected].
