At-Home Project: Make a Diorama Due Date:_______________ Introduction: In this unit, you read about many events of the American Revolutionary War. You can bring one event of the Revolutionary War to life as you design a diorama showing a scene of one of these important events that lead to the war. Causes to choose from: The French and Indian War The Stamp Act The Boston Tea Party The Battle at Lexington/ Concord The Boston Massacre The making of the Declaration of Independence Some Suggested Materials: Empty shoebox or other box Paints Paper Clay Scissors Paste Glue Other art supplies Getting Started: 1. Review the causes described in this unit. Choose an event (from the list above) you think was particularly important or of interest to you. 2. Discover all you can about the event you chose. Reread the information in your textbook. Look for other information about the event in other books or on the internet (with parental guidance). 3. Construct a well-developed paragraph (or two) including the details about the event. Checklist: My diorama shows a real event of the American Revolution. My diorama shows at least three interesting details about the event. My diorama uses at least three different art materials, such as paper, plastic soldiers/people, and clay.
